Nankervis !!

For mine, the visual test shows me Nankervis is a better player and does more for theteam than Hampson.
Marking, tackleing, kicking, groundwork and smarts. He can't tap as well though.

I think the fact that already in two games this year Nankervis has had more disposals than Hampson has EVER had in a game puts testament to that. I think Hampson is a great tap ruckman regardless of the conjecture of the importance of that in today's game but once bounced he's pretty much a very tall witches hat. You just can't afford to have one less midfielder for a whole game these days.

Well, Coburg. It goes like this.
Firstly, there's a thing called context; it goes a long way back to Lamby citing SMartin as a striking contrast to Hampson over 2016, thus referenced in posts between us.
Secondly, he was Nank's direct opponent this game. IMHO, although Nank battled hard, Martin clearly beat him soundly by most parameters, although some didn't seem willing to be honest/realistic about this.
Thirdly, Champion Data. Some rate it; others thing it's crappy. (e.g. See some of Zip's posts!! Don't they rate Sheds as elite too? That's one I'ma little more accepting of than Zips). TBH, I've never really examined it that closely. Think I once had a look for their website and either didn't find satisfactorily/you needed login crap etc./or found it boring. Can't remember. As I've said before, I'll never claim to be a stats guru. I do find too many boring and tedious to pore over and suspect nothing that revelatory may be hiding there. So, in short, not sure CD is all that indisputable a source.

Personally, from my POV, Nankervis' effort in 2016 has been really good, but not sure I'd call him elite at all yet. He hasn't had a decisive win over any of the ruck opponents he has played as yet, and well beaten by Giles (assisted by Vardy) and S.Martin. He has his best ahead of him and will benefit from greater support. Griffith's return for a start.

So his stats for the year are not elite because you don't like the website that records them, and an opposition player played well in round 4.

Okay.

I reckon he's still got significant upside and improvement left in him. He may well become reputationally elite as well as statistically.

But for this year, his raw stats are better than any ruckman we've had for the last four of five years. Excluding irrelevant raw hit out stats, obviously. Which goes well with the feeling of man love I have for him on game day.

Watching the replay, Nankervis's game although light on possessions, was full of manic pressure on the opposition. That first quarter he was unbelievable. His attack on the ball and opposition is just awesome. And to think he's only 22yo with still much improvement in him.

I paid the extra 10 bucks for the second digit on my Tigers jersey this year, just so I could wear the 25.

I'd pay a hundred for the priveledge.

Legend!

That effort in the last, when he ran 50m across half back to cover a switch. Amazing heart.

He's tough, he's determined, composed and critically, he is clean. He uses the ball in tight like an A grader.

You don't your ruckman to be pendlebury on the ball.
