More on Morton

Wonder how much West Coast would give up to get the Morton brothers united? ;D
You should be wondering what Richmond will give to get the Morton boys united. ;D

I reckon the one thing we really need is that 197-198 dude that can really hold down either CHF or CHB. Hunter's good, don't get me wrong but I reckon Hansen is exactly what we need. He's younger too so still likely to be contributing when the rest of our kids (hopefully) start hitting their straps.

I would like to trade up for Rance but I would still take Cotchin way before Cale.

I have talked myself into the Cotchin era, at least if we are robbed of the number one pick we get a star in the making.

No to Morton.

whats morton done anyway?

played a couple of nice games during the champs when his side was on top and rolled the dice and ran forward, and he also robbed palmer of the larke medal, done nothing in senior wa footy

looks pretty and has upside :-[

Good point. After watching that first game I ws all for Palmer. After re-watching it a few times I realised how dominant the inside on-ballers (Masten, McGinnity, Rich) and the backmen (Rance, Myers, Pears, Browne) were, and how players like Palmer and Morton really benefited from their dominance.

Hansen is good but we need a key backman more. Someone to take on the bigger, slower blokes. Thursfiled can take on the quicker N.Riewoldt types, but we need someone for the Gehrig, JBrown, Hall types. I thought Polak was gonna be it, but Terry prefers to play him loose.

Rich looked awesome.

I reckon Polak has more chance of becoming our big CHB/FB than Schulz, Hughes or Reiwoldt have of becoming our big CHF. Maybe forget Hurn and get them both lol.

why isnt hurn playing in the middle with judd, cousins and kerr out..... is he too slow?

Really Leysy? For what reason?

Hi Duck man,

Hansen's the perfect argument as to why Phantom's grouping of players in strict groups of height can be flawed.

He is a 197cm footballer that plays 10cm shorter, strictly a lead-up forward, albeit a decent one.

Regardless of height Leysy'd back Hunter's like (quick & strong body on body) in as a CHB that plays on the key forwards i.e Brown, Mooney, Hall, Richo etc over Hansen & his type every time.

i love hunter, plays chb and kills his opponent for 3 quarters and then runs forward in the last quarter to kick 3 goals and rip the game apart

very important player

Agree with all that Leysy although you're maybe selling Hansen a little short by suggesting he's essentially a 187 leading forward. I think this year he started to take a few contested marks which will make him more damaging in years to come. Hunter is like Bolton or Brown in that they can shut down forwards much bigger than them and also provide good drive and options for teammates out of defense. I'm saying I'd take Hansen over him because we need a CHF more than we need a CHB IMO.

hansen relies on so much ball coming his way to get his 12-15 odd touches a game, he is a nice lead up target but not a genuine chf

hunter is a weapon late in games, gets the eagles out of so much trouble when goals need to be kicked unlike any other backmen in the game atm

touch call but you have to go hunter

Sorry Disco but Hunter over Hansen any day, Hansen is massively over rated if you ask me and Hunter is the type that always stands up when the game is on the line.

I also suspect that Richmond will draft Morton and that PRE will go into meltdown next year because Kreuzer and Cotchin will have landed the Rd1 and 2 rising star award nominations whilst Morton is struggling in a back pocket for Coburg.

However fast forward 3 years and Morton will have added 10kg and replaced Bowden as the backline quarter back and I suspect we will all be a lot happier.

In saying this though I am still hoping Cotchin has a 40 possession & 5 goal Grand Final which demands he be picked at 2.

Kreuzer is the shortest priced favourite to go No.1 in the history of the draft imo.

If we trade up and select Rance in the top 10 it will make the JON selection look like genius. This guy is massively overrated on here.

West Coast is 24 and 3 with Hansen in their team over the last two years.

same stat could be said for cox etc

no doubt he is important to their structure but play for player hunter beats him all day

i dont want another bowden quarterback, i want our side to play man on man accountable footy in 3 years time when our kids body's are stronger because thats what wins finals

10 kgs in 3 years?

thats what we said about david bourke and aaron fiora and it never happened

morton is a twig and if we draft him it will be a bigger joke than the jon selection
