Monday's AFL announcements

Long term can’t see it working for the suns - GWS had much bigger handouts but they are now learning its bloody hard to win a flag (notice they have a top 10? pick this year as well - they just keep milking the handouts they were given) but they will run out eventually, their star studded line out will move on and where will they be.

We were all worried when the Giants were given their handouts when we were crap as we thought they would be gifted flags while we remained at the bottom of the ladder - makes Saturday’s win all the more pleasurable.

Gold Coast sent out clearly the youngest team in the competition and ran it into the ground by peaking in the first month. These concessions are unwarranted and excessive. Hurts the other bottom clubs the most, but the entire competition foots the bill once again.

Carlton must be furious.

Hopefully just another hurdle our recruiting team will jump over to continue this era.

Reckon we should have a fully staffed office in Perth and WC and Freo can hang around out front and we'll throw em the odd bone!

our last month of the home & away season will be very interesting.
guaranteed a away game followed by a Telstra dome game.
they will keep us off the G leading into the finals.

who cares what they do - 6-6-6 worked out okay for us. you just adapt and move on. we should get another flag possibly 2 in the next 5 years.

AFL (are corrupt) and their constant support to GC are just like a problem gambler, forever chasing bad bet after bad bet. And shitting on their family as a result.

Is anyone truly surprised?
The AFL stuffed setting up a 2nd team in qld. Its doomed. But wont admit it. So out go the handouts to rebuild go.

They are restarting the process again.

So for 30 + years we were really bad, so much worse than anyone else at one point (2009-10) yet we did not get any help like this. In fact we actually got shat on more because of the GC and GWS draft concessions. These flags are just so much sweeter, especially this one.

What is that about Vic bias?

The more the AFL does to dilute the talent pool of our rivals, the better it is for us.

I don't get the Suns getting extra picks, how many have they bloody had already & lot of good that did them. It's been development & retaining the players that's been the problem.

This is all white noise .....................

I have no problem with some equalisation (especially where funding/income is generated by huge TV contracts that rely on a truly national competition)

More importantly - I'm trying to work out who (from the GF winning 22) makes way for:

1. Rance
2. Graham
3. Stack
4. Ross
5. Chol
6. Balta
7. EGG
8. Naish

Ellis and Butler tipper to leave (so be it)

Houli and 1-2 others getting older - but - they're not OLD yet!

Never before has the future looked brighter! Why focus on perceived disparity??

The AFL has decided on some rule and draw changes for the 2020 season.AFL chief Gil has said these changes are necessary and for the good of the game.We are introducing penalty points. The RFC will play no home games at the MCG next year but will play their games at Docklands. The season opener will be against the Bulldogs followed by North Melbourne. Then Brisbane in Brisbane, eagles in Perth,Port in Adelaide, freo in Perth,Adelaide in Adelaide, then Geelong in Geelong. The grand final rematch will be in sydney the following week.Richmonds first home game for the season will follow after that being against the Pies at Docklands.Given that RFC debuted a player in this years grand final and he played well there will be no access to the next draft and Alex Rance will be deemed a required player at another club. Finally given that RFC also won the reserves competition all players will be limited to a maximum of five senior games next year.
As mentioned earlier we deem this for the good of the game and it is without prejudice.

You know they will come out with some changes.

They were up in arms that we were able to snare Lynch and not pay a price- draft picks.

Picked up Stacky for nothing. Future star who at one stage may have caught the attention of the Rising Star Committee and beat the eventual winner Walsh.

We picked up another in Pickett under everyone’s nose and the audacity to debut him in a GF.

We just took the p155 !

Now possibly, not out of the realm of possibility according to Dimma this morning Harley Bennell hasn’t been ruled out!

Now that would be hilarious to see people’s faces explode and people like Sheedy call us arrogant, Cornes wanting us to pay GC compensation still for Lynch, Salty to come out tonight and say we could have beaten Richmond, not as good as last year and Blight with his other Geelong mates demand the Tigers release the blueprint to the rest of the competition ( apart from the Hawks) the meaning of fun, care for each other, Higgins speeches, how Dimma changed etc etc.
