Hunt them like wild animals, give them no time or space, sit a few guys on their backside, let them know we are here to compete.

This.

Savage them every time they have the pill and peel of the other way when we have it.

If we hunt the ball like we did last week(first time this season we've done it) we'll go close.

If we're going to do it, and I hope we do, then we need to do it right from the start. I'm sick of giving the opposition a head start.

The EF defeat should be burning deep in the team's guts

It (EF loss) might make a difference to the players' attitude, but I won't be holding my breath.

When Jack died, when Tommy died and the follow-up revenge game against the same old Rabble, we couldn't even light a fart less burn a hole in our guts.

man port r going to go to town on us and rip us a new one.
I suggest u all don't have a bug Sunday lunch.

I think it will be a good test of character for the team, because Port are going to come out all guns blazing and we'll have to combat that if we want take the 4 points home.

It wasn't their loading. It was the fact that they had Carlisle and Trengove out and were leaking goals and their run from the back was stifled.
This time they are missing Polec and Carlisle has been out too. Certainly Polec is a huge loss to them.

Disagree, training and loading takes its toll... This coming from an ex ironman, tapering is massive and someone like burgess would know exactly what he is doing i would guess when its reported hes on close to a mil a year!

Ive wondered whether we are in the same boat actually (the brightsider in me), its reported as it is every year that we flogged the players.. Saw last weekend a bit more run from Big Ivan, Cotch, Grimes etc than previously this season... Not saying we will go and demolish the competition going forward, however its the new chaps 2nd year and im sure they stepped it up on last year, one has to hope anyhow!

Been something missing with the Porters for a couple of weeks . Maybe a good Wine is what they need to get the balance back. Tigers a big sniff if Lids & Cotch fire ag ain & Porters perform like their last two gallops. They have talls Ryder ,Lobbe & Westhoff so Tigers have to match them man to man. Maric then a carve up between TV, Griff or McBean. It will be interesting to see who Dim Sim plays , as the Tigers have to get another scalp under their belt before Round 10.

Selection will be interesting, could keep Menedue based on his speed (although i think he will go out rightly for Edwards), although watching the Port vs Brissy game last week i was amazed at how slow and lack of run Port were, seems they had cement boots on... Funny game football so who knows who turns up this week..

Cornes 300th and last game should invoke passion and effort from Port, theres some people that have a belief that ports legs are cooked after 3 preseasons of pushing their bodies, perhaps a few weeks to refresh, who knows..

This is a winnable game providing we don't get the Port from the EF as that Port was almost unbeatable!
Milestone games have never invoked passion or effort from RFC, why are port able to do that?

Certainly a risk and i guess it would be very hard to predict how the players would respond to it early days in their fitness program. Definately losing games was not in the plan but having them play a little over cooked so they could benefit later seemed to be IMO. It has been mentioned that their program has been stepped up every year and its seems they are setting fitness goals over a much longer period that year to year. We didn't have the option of loading our players up because we couldn't afford to be off even 1% because the finals dream would have been over. We were spent on EF day, they were running on top of the ground.

Given we made finals in 2013 why didn't we set long term goals? don't try to give us credit where it isn't due.

Are they? I seem to remember an important game for Port in 2010, in driving rain, where they were completely and utterly panted by the supposed worst team in the competition, who up to that point had not won a game for the season.

Possibly we did and messed them up. concrete boots first half of the year, nine wins in a row on top of the ground. Again, perhaps we overcooked our boys early and lost more games than we ever expected, tapered them, won nine but ran out of gas. Not trying to give credit, its all hypothesis. Perhaps it was all just Dimmas fault...

Port are going to smash us.

Most likely, and the ferals will be blaming Dimma for dropping McBean and not including McDonough who had 30 possessions in the VFL. :cutelaugh

Disagree.
Reckon we'll do to them like we did last game

Of all the posters on here, AF, you're lack of actual football knowledge shines the brightest.

Thank you my friend. You are truly a beacon of such wondrous ignorance I doubt there's anyone who could possibly fail to feel better off after reading your posts.

I have a feeling we are going to play well again. Not sure if that means we win but I am expecting a very competitive Tiger outfit this week.
