Membership 2019

Norf should merge with Koo Wee Rup, double there membership in one swoop

Don't think Koo Wee Rup would be interested, whilst Koo Wee Rup is a small club, it has a little more self pride than accepting a merger like that.

They should investigate the Crows membership numbers first. A couple of months ago I discovered you vcould become an out of State member for free. So I joined. Even got a welcome from Sloaney himself; check out my official name ;D

Cracker, Evo. Still sniggering after 5 mins.

This is a breakdown of the AFL Club members last year

AFL MEMBERSHIP BREAKDOWN 2018
Total AFL members: 1,008,494
11-game home membership: 345,079
Home and away membership (at least 16-17 game memberships): 111,554
Five-game, general admission or less than 11 game membership: 121,413
Three-game membership: 151,186
Remaining membership categories: 279,261 (member of a club without entry rights, AFLW member, Auskick membership, stadium member or AFL member)

Taking that 1mill figure and taking away the 279K = 820K, 3-game and 5-game memberships equal 271K which is approximately a third of 820K so would a 100K membership today be the equivalent of a 66K membership in the days before these new membership classes arrived?

been saying for years that membership numbers should be pro rata based on how many games you get with the membership (eg. a 3 game membership is counted as 0.27 of one full memberswhip). the only downside is that many interstate and overseas memberships don't include games. we'd need to find a solution to this before implementing it.

Expecting another boost to the membership this week as the doubters climb on board the Tiger Train.

Don't understand this thinking at all, the figure is correct in the fact that it reflects the number of people, (members), engaged with the club. Who gives a *smile* what category anyone has. I don't consider my membership any less or more important than anyone else's.
RFC motto "One Club" same applies to membership.

no you don't understand my thinking in the slightest. I wasn't suggesting one category of membership is more important than another. thats ridiculous. I only suggested this for transparency in membership figures. All clubs fudge their numbers (including us), and I am suggesting we use something along the lines of my pro rata method to create a true "net figure." as tigerlove's post shows, only 45% of AFL club memberships are for 11 games or more. to claim there are over a million AFL club members is an absolute scam IMO.

At least have a membership breakdown so it’s apples and apples eg 22 game membership, 11 game, 3 game, 1 game, interstate, digital, pet, children etc

Looks that way, the site is saying 100,831 members today, 100,726 in 2018.

Woo hoo, what a fabulous effort from the Tiger Army. Every other club is a minion compred to us.
