Parrot on MMM suggesting an audit of all memberships, most likely off the back of this announcement.

to be honest, thats not an unreasonable request IMO. and i don't think we'll be the ones that need to be worried.

What is the big deal anyway if clubs fudge their membership figures, not going to make any difference to actually $ coming in the door which is audited.

Doesn't hurt anyone, just fooling themselves.

By the way did Parrett actually say an audit was required or just a made up post?

He was on MMM yesterday with Billy Brownless and JB, memberships came up, specifically Richmond reaching 100K again. Suggestions from all that figures could be a little rubbery, and reviews may be in order, specifically pets, and 1 & 3 games m/ships and their worth.

It would be interesting to see the breakdown of the type of memberships
A few one game members included
Who buys a membership after round 7 ?

The AFL list the official numbers for all clubs in the middle of the year, based on their rules as to what counts as a membership. I cant remember exactly what the rules are but somrthing like a minimum of $50, acces to at least 1 game and contact details minimum email address of an actual person.
We had over 100,000 and will do again this year based on that criteria. The same criteria for every club. Jeez Carlton are still offering 11 game memberships for $99 as they have done most of the year and still cant get near us. The only thing rubbery is the wang causing these media puppets their jealous butt hurt.

Someone needs to remind him of the 2017 PF against GWS where it was all tigers and sold out.

Especially when everyone knows that GF tickets are not going to come with the membership.

We have a lot of games away from the G in the first part of the season, maybe members holding their cash until regular G games come around?

This is a breakdown of the AFL Club members last year

AFL MEMBERSHIP BREAKDOWN 2018
Total AFL members: 1,008,494
11-game home membership: 345,079
Home and away membership (at least 16-17 game memberships): 111,554
Five-game, general admission or less than 11 game membership: 121,413
Three-game membership: 151,186
Remaining membership categories: 279,261 (member of a club without entry rights, AFLW member, Auskick membership, stadium member or AFL member)

There you go... learn something new every day. Didn't know Auskick listing counts!

I guess the painful thing for Barrett and Brayunshaw is that if 90,000 PF final seats were available for lolnorf and they were allowed to fill them up with people, dogs, pet goldfish, auskick helpers and cardboard cut-outs, you'd still get nowhere near half filling them.

As you say, that PF was pretty solid evidence of the authentic supporter base.

That is the benchmark.

Every club in the AFL should ask itself this question. If we had a Preliminary Final at the MCG against a club that sold less than 2000 tickets, how many would attend?

Richmond knows the answer to this question. It is 94,258.

North would struggle to get that to a whole Finals series, Mr Barrett.

Let's also not forget that Scumwood played GWS in the finals at the MCG last year and the crowd was a meagre 72,000.

Who's the biggest club in town again??
