Lynch !!

West Coast don't put Darling or Kennedy in the ruck. We need to play to our strengths. When Jack returns we have two quality
key forwards. Play them there. If Dimma insist's on not playing Balta as a back up ruck then at least put someone like McIntosh
in the ruck. We shouldn't be risking Jack or Tom in the ruck again this year.

That is so wrong in so many ways. It's like saying, don't get Lockett because we already have Dunstall. Who wouldn't want both. It is up to the coaching team to figure out a way to incorporate both of them to the benefit of the team. So i suppose West Coast should not play Darling and Kennedy together? Players like Lynch become available once every 10-20 years. You are selling him short. He has not played footy for almost 8 months so will take another couple of weeks to get going. He may not make a difference this year but Jack has at best another 2 years of solid footy left. Then what do we do? Lynch will be around for another 6-8 years with plenty of upside.

Yes his form thus far has been pretty ordinary but i think that has more to do with our game plan and lack thereof.

The coaches should be looking at a system that involves Lynch, Riewoldt and Balta in the same forward line. You don't need 5 small forwards if you have marking talls. Game has moved away from that.

Agree about Jack going into the ruck. Absolute stupidity by the coaching panel.

Lynch needs to go in and take his turn in the ruck. If he does this it helps the team

1. He can at least compete as he is 200cm tall, and he is our best relief ruckman, actually our only respectable relief ruckman
2. It means that Jack can go back to playing the only tall in the forward line and plays to our strengths with the smalls providing pressure
3. It means we have no need to play another tall, it effectively means we can play an extra midfielder.

If Lynch cannot ruck it means

1. Jack has to ruck, which exposes our 30 year old hall of famer to injury unnecessarily
2. Or we need to play another tall, that is not ready for AFL football, EG Balta

We cannot use Jack or Lynch in the ruck (apart from the occasional throw in in the foward line)

We must use other players like Moore , Balta , Garthwaite and integrate them into the team to play other roles apart from foward / defence

It'd also help if he stood 70 metres out from opposition kick outs instead of pushing up to 30 metres and applying about as much defensive pressure as a witches hat. Play to the guys strength... that's in the air. The new kick out rules conspire against him and our 2017 short game brilliance.

Balta's ready. Has been rather impressive in games, even when he's not getting a lot of it, does all the little things. Personally I'm not ready to see a guy off a knee reco playing in the ruck. Besides that Lynch hasn't had a proper pre-season so he's not in shape to compete in the ruck anyway.

Probably, history suggests footy karma always seems to inflict non premierships on such an individual’s decision

I really don’t want to see another Collingwood grand final.
Unless they suffer a great loss.

The sooner Lynch gets match fit and steps up to the plate the better for us especially now Jack is out for a few weeks. Right now he is not worth the money we are paying him

Dimma "Hey Tommy hows the knee"?

Lynch "Yeah Good Dimma thanks for asking"!

Dimma "Hows your back doing Tommy"?

Lynch "Its Mickey Mouse Dimma all good"!

Dimma "Great news son cause ummmm we need you to carry the side for pretty much the rest of the year!! There's a good lad"!

lynch needs Townsend

Not a bad call especially with no Jack and no Caddy.

The Magpies need more Townsend exposure they've got away witrh it.

God how I'd love to see Towner fold up Treloar or Moore or Grundy or that $%&#$ Seppo lurch.

Should be use to it.
Carried GC for a few years.

It's gonna be great watching him when he's fully fit and the rest of the team don't bludge like last night. First time I've seen him live last night and he has Richo like presence when he goes for the ball. He's a massive unit with massive mits.

IMO he's tracking nicely, we also need to be playing Balta as 2nd ruck so Lynch & Jack can both stay fwd, at times last night we had no fwds to kick to, that has not happened to us for a while.

Looks like he is in for a big year.
Not a bad effort is it , 6 goals in first 2 games when his clearly underdone , stays fit and will be able to build an rebuild our forward line around him over the next 5 or so years

3 goals in each game in a currently dysfunctional team coming off a knee reco without a pre-season. The guy is a gun and will be worth every dollar as long as he stays fit.
