Lynch !!

Be interesting to see how big Tom goes without Jack in there over the next few weeks. I suspect he will relish the added responsibility and it makes things a bit simpler...no confusion over who has to be too banana in our forward line over the next month. Like to see Townshend in there providing some cover for him though.

Could be good, Lynch sorts out his role and Jack comes back and we get 2 big forward targets along with some extras in Caddy and possibly Townshend. Sounds like a good forward line to me. Also I remember a commentator pointing out we had 7 in the forward line, I think it was in a 2017 final, and we also had 7 when the ball went back - a lot of running from one end to the other but that's how we fit in a few big and medium forwards and the midgets. Ever notice how good teams always look like they have more players at every contest at both ends of the ground? We looked like we had less players around the ball all night last Thursday, the opposite in 2017 when we always had the extra player. If we get this right Lynch will thrive and add so much to how we perform.

Robbo Hearld sun today ‘the worse defensive foward in the comp’

He should just worry about his *smile* club Essendon

Struggling to deal with the fact his side is the biggest rabble in the league. Lynch’s defensive capabilities are a mere drop in the ocean compared to essendon problems - 5322 days since their last finals win..

What a prick. Looks like Seventeenthdon has made him hit the bottle again...

Tom Lynch averaging 3 goals a game at a new club

Jake Stringer - is Essendon highest goal kicker with 2 Goals in 2 games

Lynch will be fine. As will the tigers. It's round 2 of a long season.

Lynch is new to the team and miss nearly all the ball work in the preseason. Will take a few weeks to get the pace of the game plan and playing with his teammates. Just doesn't happen in an instant. He also did not need to do any defensive work at the Suns so can add another bow to his armoury

Its not Lynch I'm worried about, it's JR8. Looks all at sea in his new role and now being out for 4 weeks will deprive he and Lynch valuable on-field bonding time.
Don't think the coaches have even worked out how to play them together. Surely rucking Jack is not the solution but shows that even in a marque game like last Thursday, they are willing to experiment which to me highlights they are trying things out without a masterplan for the two to play forward together.

Still early days, but i'll be happy when Jack and Tom start screening for each other, haven't seen any of that yet.

Good post. Jack has seemed displaced.

They’re like 2 left feet right now , reckon lynch has to play the high HF role and will benefi our defenders on the way out , jack with his bag of tricks play deep and need the twiain shall: meet

Re: Lyn

On the couch tonight. They went through the top new recruits.
Eg. Lycett number 1 ruckman
Neale number 2 in possessions
Beams number 1 in possssions

They named about 6 but once again no mention of Lynch sitting 2nd in the Coleman

Geez Neale would be handy in our side right now.

Considering the interrupted preseason Lynch is going very well.

Give it some time and he'll dominate the comp as the premier big forward.
