Lynch !!

Watching First Crack, Tom Morris wants Lynch done for striking. King wants it thrown out, the same with the Vlastuin one that he said was a 50 and the issue was Bellchambers and not Vlastuins. The only 1 he agreed with was Grimes staging, which I can understand. Don't normally like Kingy that much but he was 100% right with this.

Seems most players think the Lynch thing is a joke, its the non playing media muppets that are making so much out of it, like Ralph, Morris, etc
The club may have to put a media ban on itself and force these clowns to go through official channels to get anything out of us, and maybe we could even get some of the worst offenders denied all access.

There’s just so much wrong with this. I was thinking “ good, they’ll use the footage at the tribunal to get him off” then I realised that christian has sent it to the tribunal on the basis of the footage.
Putting my bias aside for a moment and trying to be objective......
- why wasn’t Hurley charged with striking Lynch’s hand repeatedly off the ball and with his back to the play? Not sure if he targeted the injured hand or not but still repeatedly threw punches.
- why didn’t any umpire pay a free kick for Hurley blocking Lynch’s path to the ball when play was a fair bit away, and as mentioned, Hurley had his back to the play
- if Vlastuin was fined for staging ( I think that the blow originally struck vlas on the shoulder but then continued on to glance him higher. Not intentional but I still think it was there), then why hasn’t Hurley been fined for staging. At worst Lynch’s hand touched his beard. Hurley “recovered” pretty quick once he realised no umpire was looking
- I believe lynch was using his forearm to continually try and push Hurley away from him as he was trying to get to the action. There was no fist and no punch as the media seem to be claiming.
- throughout the night you can repeatedly hear an umpire saying that he would pay a free kick and it didn’t matter if contact was light if things continued. The commentators didn’t say who the umpire was referring to and since there is no scrutiny for any other clashes that continued throughout the game, I can only assume it was directed Lynch and Hurley. so to me, at least one umpire saw what was unfolding throughout the night but didn’t actually do anything about it other than issue a weak threat that was never followed upon. I don’t think any free kick was paid on the night
please correct me if I’m wrong on any of the points I’ve made.
I really hope we highlight the lead up footage to the incident resulting in the charge

Pretty good summary, Lynch is being targeted by the media and the amateurs at the AFL are just going along with it.

This is an absolute joke.

The MRP have no credibility and how about fining Hurley for whacking Lynch and for diving.

Totally agree with this. *smile* ‘em

Two separate headlines within a couple of hours of each other on Foxsports AFL.

The first

"Richmond star Tom Lynch has been referred directly to the Tribunal after his latest punching incident."

The second

"Is Tigers star victim of a witch hunt?"
I wish the clowns would make up their minds

Witch hunt. Hatchet job. Stitch up.

Call it what you like but this is exactly what it is. No one can deny it now.

I’ve never seen anything this ridiculous in all my many many years of watching footy. That is the softest thing I’ve ever seen be taken to the tribunal.

The AFL is officially a joke.

Still think there’s no agenda against Richmond Ant?

if there was they would have edited that out wouldn't they? And you wouldn't have Kane Cornes and others going in to bat for Lynch.

Conspiracy theories don't interest me. The media is there for click bait and when they sense blood in the water they all pile on. Don't confuse laziness and shoddy professionalism with malevolence.

I understand where you’re coming from mate.

But f@*k that.

I wasn’t planning on going down the Coast on Thurs night, circumstances dictated I couldn’t.

But these latest charges against my Tigers have me steamed up beyond words.

Tickets now booked, stuff the consequences, I’m going down to show my team I’m in their corner and back them to the hilt.

We are Richmond, do your best to un-settle us, but we will come out on top despite everyone’s attempts to destabilise us.
Go get 'em Mopsy!!

It’s not all the media that is engaged in the witch hunt; but certainly a very substantial and influential portion. As for Cornes he just automatically takes the opposite position to everyone else. It’s his schtick.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist either. There is no conspiracy here. It’s plain to see what is going on and it is out in the open. Lynch’s charge is the softest I’ve ever seen go to the tribunal. Dixon tried to elbow Stratton’s head 6 feet under the turf and got a paltry $500 fine. The media are not even talking about it. Grimes and Vlastuin get fined for stagingbut other players do the same week in week out yet only Richmond players get fined?

What is happening almost beggars belief. It is staggering in its corruption.

Should contest each and every fine or suspension on every occasion now.
Make a point of refusing to accept this...stuff the consequences.
Know from a very good source from one of the broadcasters that this is being driven by SHocking, was particularly scathing of the Grymes incident

seems like a lot of effort just to get $500 and $750 in fine money
And sending Lynch directly to the tribunal for pushing a bloke in the chest? Why isn’t Hurley up for trying to belt Lynch’s injured hand? Why wasn’t he fined for clearly staging after Lynch’s push?

Can you in all honesty say that Lynch‘s “offence” was worse than what Dixon did?

The “offence” this week is not why he is going to the tribunal- it is the cumulative effect of his other striking offences. An impartial Tribunal should throw it out. Michael Christian is just a puppet, reacting to the commentators and media. He is incapable of making an unbiased decision himself so he flick passes it on to be someone else’s problem.

he is making it someone else's problem because he is probably sick of the death threats he's getting from the Bombers supporters

Will someone tell that Geelong hack to have a look at the rest of the games. Been going for a while now because the umpires don’t pay free kicks that are there and then They pay the bullshite ones.

Example, Bellchambers got 50m against him earlier in the game for punching the ball as it was going out on the full. Sorry, that is just ridiculous. Why would you bother to ping a player for that. Maybe if there were secs left in the game and it was on the line. It’s just pointless.
