Lynch !!

Crap teams that know they can't beat us if they go head to head decide to flood. This has happened in numerous games this year and the stats are obvious. I've grouped teams below into 3 categories, those where we had an obvious flood to counter, ones where we played better teams and then the others. The stats speak for themselves.

We don't need to change our structure for the good teams. We do however need to finally find a way to beat the flood.

Thanks Posh.
Great insight & analysis.

But I still think it’s something we need to rectify quick smart.

You can’t just switch it on & off but maybe this group can. % May play a part so why not smash sides. ?

It’s a simple fix.
Let’s see what they come up with against WC & Cats, otherwise it’s going to get ugly.

Thanks Posh.

I don't think its that simple a fix unless we start trying to kick goals from outside 50, but thats what these teams want. They want us to die from 1000 cuts in a game and the Bombers were close to pulling it off, smash and grab. Its not that easy to fix when you look up and the forward 50 is fillled with say 10-11 defenders, if we go and man them up inside our F50, then you are pushing 20-22 players all into the one 50 and we wonder why there is no room.

We don't help ourselves with some of our kicking, but in some ways we are trying to kick long to try to go over the flood, there were a few times when we did this and got front on contact but no free was paid. At times we really tried to spread it around the edge of the 50 to pull their defence out a bit and then maybe create an opening, but we then turned it over.

Poor kicking at goal and some bad decisions. We had 23 shots at goal and but for some decisions could have been more. I think you are over-estimating the flood - we won territory so then with time in our forward half the opposition numbers fall back. We had plenty of looks though

The treatment of Lynch from the Umpires and Media in the last 3 weeks is a disgrace. The only one not overreacting is Micheal Christian.

I'm looking at Robbo (drunken bum), Tom Morris (private school batty boy) and Jon Ralph (dumb cheerleader that hasn't broken a story in his whole career) as the chief flogs. Morris has been campaigning to get Lynch suspended for 4 weeks now.

Umpires need to pay more frees. Why the F is Hurley engaging Lynch with his back to the footy? Defenders are regularly using these *smile* tactics. Let the forwards play that's what most pay their money to see. Stamp this *smile* out.
I text Whaetly on SEN the other day about pretty much that , he read my text out and said, that’s what there already doing....Bull *smile*

So any ideas how we can overcome the flood ?.

Get a 215cm 120kg giant to stand 30m out from goal and bomb the ball to him then surround him with 5 smalls. No way they are blocking him and either marketing uncontested or smashing the ball 20m away from that contest. How long till this basketballer arrives?

Why is Hurley allowed to repeatedly punch Lynch’s recently broken hand 100m away from the ball?

Actually no - storm in a teacup. Not worth getting sucked in by the AFL schoolyard media.

It’s just a couple of nobodies trying to draw attention, so don’t give them the satisfaction.

After three fines so far this year for tummy taps and biffs to the head, Lynch can expect to face the ire of the MRO again on Sunday night.

At the very least you could expect they will refer him to the tribunal for his cuff to the throat of Michael Hurley for a third or subsequent fine this season.

At the worst he will be suspended for a week for an intentional, low-impact strike on Hurley.

Then the tribunal will decide whether he misses a massive game for the club‘s top-four hopes against West Coast on Thursday while taking into account his fines this year.

His strike to Hurley’s throat was forceful enough to see the Dons defender recoil in surprise, but quite a full swinging strike.

Have we all somehow been transported to the twilight zone?

Who wrote that. Absolute gutter tripe. Can’t even call it journalism.

recoil in surprise on fake recoil in hope of a free kick?

the club needs to overplay the Grimes/Vlastuin death threats in order to steal air time from the Lynch media witch hunt.

it’s a propaganda war. Gale needs to come out and get right in the face of the media, perhaps suggest money is owed from the amount of clicks they are currently getting on the back of using our club as a punching bag. I’d love to see the reaction to that.

To all those so called journalists out there who are clearly mentally challenged, I’ll say this very, very SLOOOWWWLY.....

It was a forearm push to the upper chest. Would you like me to repeat it again???

Well, the media fix is well and truly in. I reckon they put pressure on the MRO by just making it fait accompli that Lynch will get referred to tribunal. Then the MRO feels he has to otherwise he,ll cop a load of negative media crap.
