Lynch !!

Best solution, Lynch comes out tomorrow night, tears the bombers a new one, kicks six, all with a smile on his face.
Then after the game, escorts some old ladies to their cars.

So Dimma needed to be mindful of Schwarz mental state but Schwarz has nothing to worry about the fallout on what his comments could do to Lynch?

I think this is what annoys me the most.

What Schwarz said was the height of cowardice.

He jumped on a bandwagon, and into a pile on, waiting until he was sure he was not voicing a controversial opinion. Coward.

He picked a target who was already down and being kicked. Coward.

He picked a target who is essentially under contract to not fire back. Coward.

He didn't criticise the footballer or the action, he attacked character, all with the support of common will, and feeling like there couldn't possibly be any ramifications to his own.

He is as bad as any anonymous keyboard warrior. Worse, because people actually hear him.

Dimma was angry. I would have been too. Dimma cops heat because he's a coach, not a media talking head.

If the personalities in the media want to throw haymakers, they can't cry when they get floored by a jab.

I think it was great to see Dimma go all unprofessional for 30 seconds.

watch Bucks hold a press conference this week and call the Scott Twins pussy cry babies.

I love unprofessionalism used judiciously.

Who would have thought Kane Cornes the voice of reason this morning, calling overreaction city this week.

unlike Cornes to go against what everyone is saying. if there had been no comment on the hit so far he would be calling for Lynch to be suspended for the rest of the year.

Good for Footy Classified for going in to bat for Lynch. Played the shot of Collins hitting Lynch in the guts and say he was getting payback for all the scragging etc from the idiot. Good on them especially LLoyd and Ross

One thing I've noticed:

Most of these so called 'experts' who are calling for a suspension are idiots.

Theo thers who are saying let it go, are great people.

Geez, Dimma just gave ox a bit of *smile* cos he called Lynch not tough and said if Lynch did it to him, he'd grab him by the throat. Dimmer pointed out that he's not that tough either. Tit for tat. Media cries for more transparency and for players and coaches to open up more, then carry on and make a big deal about it when they do.
Cant believe something as insignificant as what Lynch did has led to this much *smile*.

There is a significant strand of the entire narrative about Lynch that is about the platicness of the tough guy. Evidence of plasticness? The clip above where Lynch, having successfully bumped a youngish Dangerfield (but nothing special) lurches back over to him and pushes him over again when he's off balance, and then gobs off.

Plasticness is about showy and Lynch can be very showy. You can't be plastic without showy. (Anybody here prefer the strong silent type? Usually, I do, particularly if an assassin.)

The implication, the unstated allegation of plasticness is that the toughguy is not real. The plastic tough guy is the first bluff you'd call.

On the topic of Lynch's genuine toughness, I refer you to the 2019 Preliminary Final during which Tom Lynch, at crucial stages, applied his 100kg at full speed and at great velocity to up 500kg of moving heathen. Heroically and irrespective of personal risk. It was the PF. We were *smile*. He rose and hit hard, at risk. He was instrumental in winning a match we were losing. Mentally tough. Physically tough.

Tom Lynch may be showy but he is real. (You can be showy and still real.)

It is the platicness strand that is the main one in AFL playing/coaching circles atm. Or it has been, and for the entire season as I see it.

Showy is the biggest indicator of plasticness, gobbing off, pushing, standing over prone opponents, pushing supine players. Tom Lynch is showy. And conspicuous. So the narrative has long been there - Tom Lynch is soft. And all year it has been getting louder.

We're finally saying it. Plastic guys are soft. I refer you again to unforgettable bravery of the 2019 PF and remind you that it is established fact that Tom Lynch is not soft.

There has been dogwhistling.* There have been onfield incidents all on the unstated allegation against Tom Lynch - that he is soft.

Onfield? You have noticed that players in groups start each game verbally and physically targeting Tom Lynch. Singling him out. Why Lynch? Why not Jack? It's the obvious planning of it. The calculated grouping. They think he's soft. It's opposition team thinking put into action.

We have a team. We have planning. We know what's cracking down at Tigerland. And we think they're all against us. It may not be original but it's a view that may continue to profit us. Does anybody expect Richmond media victim Tom Lynch to get any protection from umpires?

It was maybe six rounds ago that Lynch started to get on the front foot. He gobbed off at them. He started the push and shove. He was, as Dimma appositely put it, 'aggressive'. Not responsive as he had been. This aggressive idea was clearly planned. We're a team. Who combats the tactics of other teams.

The thing was brewing all season but finally came to a head when Sam Collins got a gut punch of undetermined power before a marking contest. And fell over. After that Sam Collins punched Jack Riewoldt in the face (observable blood). And Jarrod Witts scragged Lynch across the face (observable blood).

And Tom Lynch's Collins punch was the big news. Because it's about Tom Lynch. And the dogwhistling about him being soft.

I'd like to touch on the notion that everybody else is bigoted. So I just did.

The treatment of Lynch by the media on this matter has been unfair. We'll see how the tactics of our opponents have worked out over the coming weeks. And you can make up your own mind own fair they are.

Also Dyer I guess we will see how the WHOLE team rallies around Lynch on field as you know now opposition coaches will be saying to Lynch’s opponent you target him. So Cotch and his band of ‘unsociable Tigers’ should make it clear from the outset that you will not get away with anything as there will be payback.
The Tigers just need to go back to their brutal, tough self and let their football do the talking and shut this noise up.
Lynch will have a target and the spotlight will be on not only him but as we have seen so far the outcry after most of our players who have received fines and lucky not to be suspended has created ...
-Lynch
-Dusty
-Jack
-Pickett
-Short
-The ‘ silent shooter ‘ Aarts etc. you get my point.

if i was on a forum about whatever crap radio station Schwarz is on these days i would probably comment on his comment, but i am not, if Hardwick didnt mention him my life would have continued in ignorant bliss that he is still in the media.

im not too fussed by what Hardwick said, i just dont think there is much to gain for him or the club. and there is potential downside.

Was hilarious listening to Maher and Murphy yesterday arvo....after listening to Dimma’s comments they appeared to go into a genuinely somber mood with Maher saying Dimma was being ‘cruel’....wtf

A percentage of the media are knuckle heads who expect the players to be held to an incredibly high standard. How often are we told that they're "role models" etc etc etc. Which to a certain extent they are.
However some of these knuckle heads are prone to character assassination when it comes to certain players. All the while these same blokes are not exactly what you'd call wonderful "role models" themselves.
