Lynch !!

Now that was funny.
Yeah it was and there were a couple of others on there that were good too.

I quite liked the one about the Clarkson making a call to Gil and the AFL shortly after making a “no loss for Hawthorn” rule :mhihi

Hi TBR
With respect, how do you know "This has been building with Lynch for quite some time and there's a lot more to it than just what you see".

I dont mean to be disparaging to you, and I never post as everyone knows, except once or twice. But NO, I dont agree with you - most of the media actually are quite stupid and actually make up stories. Most, if not almost all, the footy journos do no research, dont really watch the games, most dont know the rules - and most 100% make up stories - aiming as low as they can get. They are insecure about their jobs and positions (which they should be b/c most of them are totally hopeless and wouldnt get a job in any decent media outlet) and they are so dumb and lazy that rather than do the work to understand and write on the game, they create stories based on what others say and think. Fox footy articles are based solely on what a few of their people have said on their shows.

The pulling down of Lynch is not paranoia as a Richmond fan. It's the worst of what is now cancel culture on all social outlets. And its amplified 1000% when its Richmond. Just 5-6 weeks ago, it was Jack's turn. Then the groping which was disgusting but everyone else did it. Prior to that it was our supposed demands when in the hub - something Benny Gale pretty much said had no merit when interviewed on 3AW.

You tend to infer that Lynch is not so nice as if you know this somehow. Really?
Watch Ross Lyon’s take tonight - he is a ripper. Even Lloyd as well tonight.

It is all Fake News about Lynch. Ask Dimma to confirm it but if he does not give Donald a ring. Now this aint Fake News as Lynch has been cloned by our Master Coach Dimma to be a clone of Jack Dyer, Mopsy Fraser, Mal Brown & Mike Tyson all rolled into one. It has captured all of the AFL press (gangs) eye causing them to froth their angst at Lynch. Our Master Coach Dimma's ploy is falling into place as from now on all opposition backmen will want a piece of Lynch then Razor & his pee whistle lot should do their job & ping them. Whilst this charade is going on Jack, George, Spare Paarts ,Cotch , Daniel & even Grimey are running riot kicking buckets of goals. Simple isn't it.
Was thinking that myself, not the planning of it, but the umpires will now be watching. Lynch will settle down, but the oppo won't, and the whistle will be blown in our favour. If it was a rather cunning plan, kudos to the mastermind, I think it'll work.

We’re the AFL equivalent of the skinny kid who everyone used to pick on, but then hit their growth spurt and spent a summer in the gym to return and pay back all the crap they copped over the years. The ‘cool kids’ don’t like it.

Thats because we were only supposed to have won the one flag and then pissed off back to obscurity, nice novelty nice fairytale.

Unfortunately we didnt.

I think you have an unrealistic view. Push and shoves and forceful hits with forearms, shoulders etc happen in all games between multiple players. The emphasis on Lynch is over the top. Surely you can recognise that?

Players that initiate the contact are usually - backman/taggers - trying to get under an opponents skin and put them off their game. The forwards end up getting sick of it and responding, or react like dusty when opposed to de bore. Expecting them to just meekly absorb the push/shove/striking is absurd. Lynch is a big man, a big name playing for a big club, it's very easy for the media to focus on him because it rates.

Whilst I would love all players to shake hands and help each up and console each other during games (other than grubs like Cameron/Finlayson/Miers/Zorko/McCrae/Lonie) I understand that can not happen. The game is competitive and physically confrontational, in the heat of the moment players are going to do everything to get an edge.

I just hope such bastions of fair play as yourself and ant call out all tiger transgressions and other clubs transgressions in the coming games - we can scrutinise poor behaviour to see if it passes The Big Ant test.
Rancey always changed his game when he played on Buddy. Rance rarely engaged in the niggle stuff, just beat his opponents, if he even bothered to stand an opponent. Against Bud, the push and shove came out, and from what I remember, Bud always fell for it.

Put Jack Riewoldt’s or Richo’s head on that Collins body and watch the different media and social media reaction. There is no doubt Richmond stirs the ire of many - even when we were no
Good, but now we are good it is TDS

I think the Collins footage is hilarious. Lynch gives him a whack in the midrift - he seems truly shocked that it happened - like, wow! Its a footy match and my opponent touched me. Grow up fella - your playing on one of the top 3 full forwards in the game, it aint gonna be easy!

He then runs after Lynch for a little bit, realises he is gonna get beat to the ball.

Then Lee Harvey Oswald shot him from the book depository building, although some claim that they did here shots from beyond the grassly knoll.

Now, the comments from gamer-boy Mitch Robinson - pull the other one *smile*. You were sacked by Carlton for continually getting rubbed out for over the top aggressive play which then boiled over to getting a fractured eye socked from getting in a brawl in the CDB & missing games. You let your team down bigtime & you literally have a lifetime supply of wanker-points sitting in your back-pocket. The fact you made the comments while playing video-games on twitch just shows you how much of a tosser you are.

Once you have lived through this Mitch, you should know - you have no say in these conversations.

For those who may have forgotten...

Mitch Robinson fined by Carlton after suffering fractured eye socket in CBD brawl

MITCH Robinson’s career is on the line after Carlton discovered the volatile Blue had tried to hide his role in a 5am brawl in which his eye socket was fractured.
Five days after teammate Jeff Garlett was injured in a CBD fracas that saw four people charged with offences including affray and assault, it emerged Robinson was also there.
Carlton only became aware Robinson’s early-morning adventures in Lonsdale St after he sought medical attention for a painful eye socket. Scans confirmed a fracture.
The club last night revealed it had fined Robinson the maximum $5000 available under player rules. The eye socket injury means his season is effectively over.
Like Garlett, the volatile forward is out of contract and continues to frustrate the club with his indiscretions and suspensions.News_Image_File: Mitch Robinson pleads his case with the umpire. Picture: Michael Klein

He has been a lightning rod for controversy over the course of a six-year AFL career.
In January last year he was involved in a fight at the Big Day Out music festival and as a consequence volunteered for two months with the Salvation Army and donated $1000 to charity.
Robinson, 25, has been suspended three times this season for on-field indiscretions, the most recent a two-match ban incurred just two weeks ago.
“It’s disappointing it has come to light that both players were out in the early hours of Sunday morning — had they not put themselves in that position then this incident could have been avoided,” Carlton football manager Andrew McKay said.

“It should serve as a warning to all our players that they need to take responsibility for their behaviour and the situations they put themselves in. As professional athletes we expect them to lead by example.News_Image_File: Mitch Robinson in trouble at the Big Day Out, posted on twitter by Matt @Ssv22.
“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated at our football club.”
Coach Mick Malthouse will be crestfallen by the betrayal of trust which has echoes of the August 2008 incident which saw Collingwood players Heath Shaw and Alan Didak deceive him.
They crashed a car and denied Didak was involved, but later confessed and were suspended for the rest of the year.
It continues a diabolical year for Carlton which plunged from finals contention, moved on its chief executive Greg Swann, lost president Steve Kernahan and could see its best player Chris Judd retire.
Four players have been involved in controversial incidents with Josh Bootsma sacked for sending obscene images to a teenage girl and defender Simon White charged over a city assault.News_Image_File: Jeff Garlett was ineligible for senior selection this week. Picture: Colleen Petch.
Neither Garlett nor Robinson were charged by police over the sidewalk bust-up, which occurred in the early hours of last Sunday.
Four men in their 20s have been charged with offences including recklessly causing injury and assault.
Garlett had been celebrating his 25th birthday but ended up in hospital after being taken by ambulance with head lacerations.
Details of that incident are said to be sketchy but Carlton believes they were not the aggressors.
The incident had already cost Garlett his spot in the Blues’ team to face Gold Coast tomorrow, with Malthouse saying during the week it was “totally unacceptable” for players to be out that late.
Garlett was also fined $2500.Robinson will miss three to four weeks, all but ending his season with four home-and-away rounds remaining.

Leysy for one is welcoming it.

Every player in our hub will know about it and feel it. And knowing how close they all are - will get even closer, especially around Tom.

Imagine the narrative and options it gives our coach with his famous storylines that focus our great team.

Perfect timing.

Lets not forget Cameron from GWS caused a "Brain Bleed" on a guy by going the elbow in a pack situation. Its ridiculous. I am guessing if they took the entire goal to goal line vision Collins and Lynch would have been going at it the whole game

Okay, So he said the comments 2 weeks ago. Nothing to do with the GC game.

“I know it came off the back of the Witherden incident. It’s two weeks old, it’s emerged (Wednesday), the Lions became aware of it

Some vision on foxsports showing Collins punch on lynch that lead to the witts report (when did he strike witts?)

New vision reveals SUNS star may have sparked ugly dust-up with Tom Lynch

As the fallout continues from Tom Lynch’s hit on Sam Collins, footage from the third quarter has come into light as a possible reason for the Richmond forward’s outburst.
Lynch was slapped with two striking fines after his side’s win over Gold Coast, with an off-the-ball hit on Sam Collins leaving the Suns defender fuming and much of the AFL world incensed.

Now, footage from the third quarter shows the off-the-ball treatment that may’ve led to tensions boiling over for Lynch in the final term.

During the third quarter, Sam Collins was awarded a free kick after Lynch pushed the defender in the back during a marking contest.

While looking at the umpire to see what he had signalled, Collins threw an arm towards the midriff region of Lynch.

The Tigers forward reacted by becoming involved in a scuffle with Collins, which then saw Suns co-captain Jarrod Witts come in and engage with Lynch.

Lynch would be charged for striking Witts, as well as a fourth quarter hit on Collins, but Essendon great Matthew Lloyd said Lynch had to better “pick your moments” to retaliate.

“You’re venting in a sense and you’re frustrated,” he said on Channel 9’s Footy Classified.

“What I’d say to Tom is don’t react then and there, wait your time, there might be a time where Sam Collins is backing back into a pack. Put your knee up, go for a mark and you might hurt Collins in that way.

He’s just probably got to get some advice, pick your moments rather than hurting your team.”

Former Fremantle coach Ross Lyon agreed, telling Collins he needed to “wear what comes” when engaging in off-the-ball hits of his own.

“That was very aggressive. To me identical to Lynch but with more force,” he said.

“I think it was very aggressive by Collins and that’s OK, but if you’re going to do that you’ve got to wear what comes. You give and you wear them.

“In the context of treatment, I’ve watched all year, he was under pressure for not performing, people were holding with two arms around him. He’s decided enough is enough, I’m getting aggressive. Generally the full backs are behind and in your back.

“I think keep standing your ground Tom, attack the ball hard and when you get an opportunity, take it and tackle hard and hit the pack hard.”

The tide is turning on to what Collins did... I’ve chipped in with 3rd quarter comments on many news sites (against quite the tide of morally outraged opinion)

Gee I wonder if Mincey and Yobbo will run with this on AFL360 tonight? What about Gaddy on his breakfast radio show?

I bet not . None of them will be man enough to admit they extremely judgemental and biased when it comes to Lynch and RFC as a whole.

How do Collins and Witts escape any sanction when compared with what Lynch did? The only difference I see is that Collins is a pussy and went down like a sack of spuds. His hit on Lynch was at least the equal in force yet Lynch stood his ground and then got attacked from behind by Witts. WTF is he supposed to do when attacked on both sides like that? The free kick should have been reversed.

Anyone who can't see that this is a hatchet job on Lynch by a media with an agenda has their eyes closed.

What gives me the s***s, and I'm sure plenty of others around here too, is the media witch hunt around this.

As many have said, forwards, backs, mids, hell, everyone is throwing a little tap here and a little whack there. But the media pick and choose which one they're going to go apes*** about.

Infinitely worse than this, the AFL reacts to the media s***storm and pull out a couple of selective fines for the chosen villain of the week. They then cheerfully ignore at least a dozen similar incidents. The AFL, if it were a professional organisation, would look at the games and pick out the incidents. Instead, they are led by the nose according to who the media choose to sensationalise each week.

I wouldn't give a f*** what the media says if it wasn't for the fact that what the media says seems to have a huge influence on what the amateurs running the show at the AFL do.

Yet again, just like the incident in the change rooms, the media are setting the agenda for the AFL, ironically including the AFL employed media (what a f***ing amateur organisation that can't even get the line right from the so-called journos they employ).

Remember too, the media are not doing this because they reckon what Lynch did was any worse than what dozens of other players do every week, they are not concerned about Collins being hit, they are certainly not concerned about Reiwoldt being whacked and getting a couple of stitches above the eye. They had no concern about Chol. No concern when Dixon ran straight through Baker with eyes only for taking out Baker, Dixon wouldn't have known where the ball was. No, all they are concerned about is getting more clicks or ratings and being the centre of attention.

It's time the AFL put football back on the back page of the newspaper, not media sensationalism which is all about the media attracting attention for itself.
