Lynch !!

You blokes are funny.
There is only one part of the ground that's called the men's department, and it ain't the mids or forwards!!
settle Josey. Firstly ruckmen dont care about departments or apartments.
And secondly thats all I have got.
Dont forget that ruckmen set up a kick behind play to help out the slack backs

Although I stand by my call for Benny to make a stand on all this, it's the usual Richmond way. Don't sook; don't complain; shut up; suck it up and let your footy do the talking.

Yeah Benny is of the "never complain, never explain" PR school which is exactly the right way to play it.

Unpopular PRE opinion - all this whinging about the media treatment of Lynch is a crock. You lads keep saying you love to be hated and feared yet complain when the media et al actually level criticism. Make up your minds.

He acted like a *smile* and needs to own it - case in point below. If anyone did this to one of our players there would be PRE meltdown of epic proportions.

He got fined, move on, don't do it again.

Kind of surprised at this stance coming from you. Obviously Tom is simply fooling around with Collins here. Remember, Tom claimed an open-handed whack to the guts; it may not have been but I, for one, cannot detect what the state of his hand is for the blow. But, crucially, Collins did NOT go down then but, in fact, ran after him quite capably until his encounter with Aarts. Then he dropped like the proverbial. So was it the ferocious blow from Aarts? Or did Collins go to ground after Lynch had clearly got away to mark? Seeking a free, trying to justify it to his team/coach? Who knows except him?

As i said in one of my prior posts, Collins has got away with at least 3 similar gut-punches from behind on Tom Lynch plus the high hit on JR8. Why no focus on them I wonder?

I am puzzled by the naivety of some on here that seem just so remiss in what is going on between players on the field. The off-the-ball tugs, shoves, sly punches long before the ball arrives, but especially the attempted clever (because the art is to make it all look so incidental or at least the good ones) blocks to keep a top player from approaching the ball by using the outnumber. This is a major strategy used on the key forwards. Jack and Tom are copping a heap of this this year especially with the use of flooding to stop our attack.

As another poster reported - one who attended the game live - Collins niggled TL all game. Please wake up to reality here.
Tom deserved his fine and has copped it. Collins has escaped any scrutiny as if he is an innocent choir-boy. Witts charged in to wave the flag but was allowed off scott-free too. So certain blows are expensive; others are free hits.

Tell me again - which club is the frustrating, under-performing but incredibly indulged love-child?

PS - came back to add. If you want to see someone 'acting like a *smile*', go find the footage of Collins post-game. If his on-field behaviour gets a tick from you, watch him slam his arm into a padded concrete pillar in the rooms. I have admired the guy for finally making it back to AFL level and for how well he played this year. But I now wonder about his troubled previous career and mental health. Could easily have damaged his arm. Dew had to leave his player-meeting (which SC had absented himself from to have this puerile tantrum) and come out to soothe, calm and collect him. Like I said ...

Yeah, too much analysis bro. Yes defenders do it too. I've got less of a problem with Tom wacking him, open hand or not, he copped the fine, move on. It's behaving like a pork chop that gets my goat as the saying goes. Sure, other players might do similar, I've got little time for it whoever does it. Just because Tom is a great Richmond player doesn't mean he gets a pass.

As for what the media write or say, honestly I don't give a rats. They focus on whatever sells/gets clicks.

Others being dicks is equally as bad. I prefer the Dylan Grimes type, nice guy, never seen him fake punch anyone, but he'll run through whoever gets in between him and the ball. Now that's a tough player.

Lynch has been in a few wrestling matches recently, mostly because it's been instigated by by defenders. Mostly. He tends to get a bit carried away. He's letting the dust up go on for two or three occasions, instead of after the first one knuckling down and beating his man. Or Lockettizing him. Do we want him to go meekly into the night? The fact he is (let's face it) a bit of a *smile*, doesn't forgive the media bashing he has copped this week. It has been over the top and ludicrous. Didn't some othe player get death threats last week? Short memories. I will be mortified if Lynch gets bashed around this week and does nothing. You've got to stand ip for your self, take no *smile*, BUT, then you've gotta do what you do best. Ball is in Tom's court.

You are a bastion of balanced, sensible opinion on here Antman and I for one, appreciate it.

The media witch hunt talk is about a degree off being an anti-vaxxer. Lynch has embarrassed himself with the non-football things he has said and done on the field for a while and has been amazingly slow to get the message. Now he's been publicly humiliated which will hopefully be the wake-up he needs.

I've been searching unsuccessfully for some footage of Dustin in his first year. He has an early post match interview after playing a good game and is asked if opposition players are getting into him much.

With his shyness and lack of media training in full glorious flight he grins and says something like yeah but if they are gobbing off or pushing me it's usually because I've got them beaten so I don't mind it too much.

Might be time to share that wisdom.

I just have a small concern , going by Dimma and Jacks recent comments(and i might be completely wrong, ) that it is actually being encouraged ,

And if that is the case , he might be thinking right now along the lines, I do as you ask and play aggressive , now look at the mess im in

This is all magnified at the moment with there being only a single game on a night. All the thousands of AFL accredited media types need to submit something so it's all about whatever drama they can manufacture. Add in there is no game for 3 days and our last match is all they have to write about.

If this had happened during a weekend with a full footy fixture on, it wouldn't be anywhere near as big as what it is.

Good on you, W !
But if Aarts is guilty of anything - and it's true that Collins is chasing after Lynch and only drops after the 'big hit' from Jake - why isn't he the culprit instead of Tom? Tom claimed an open hand but not sure if there is footage to clarify. Both impacts looked pretty minor to me; I mean for a huge, tough, hard-as-teak footballer. Don't suppose Collo went down looking for a free since Tom has definitely got away from him this time however it happened?

So you probably didn't send it to the AFL, right? Because they would have already examined the whole match forensically as they say they do, right? In order to impose and apportion for any perceived misdemeanors? Therefore, they have found ... and then dismissed this as a - 'no case to answer'? But surely the AFL cannot be such biased hypocrites to ignore this same offence? Surely? Or was it the reason why they backed away from the Lynch-mob by just a fine (and thinking no-one will notice how Collins got away with exactly the same thing?)

Remind me again why SEN banned you, W? [Surely not because they feature a heap of prejudiced, self-appointed moral arbiters who in no way have any credentials to occupy such high ground, and that includes their head honcho: Jabber Hutchi Poobah himself].
Astute - that is my theory.
he buckled at the Lynch hit, then he took off knowing he had lost him. Then when Aarts finger bumped him he took the opportunity to collapse and hoped for a free like a beaten man.
The episode after the game was his overriding guilt.
and I have always liked Collins but Aarts barely touched him.
Whateley was saying just fine him anyway, doesnt matter if he did nothing ..! Wtf is that all about

Robinson’s comments set Brisbane up beautifully for another finals failure.

Hopefully we can deliver it personally.

Who can forget last year, 2019 when Chris Scott said "Tigers not as good as they were last year" comment.

Kind of blew up in his face. :rotfl1

He is trying to get under his opponents skin, he obviously did a good job of it. It's called being competitive, something you've admitted you are not good at. Saying he acted like a *smile* is uncalled for and just shows you aren't really appreciating the full context of what Lynch has been subjected to and what he is doing on the field to get the Tigers over the line.

Lynch's antics aside, surely you are not suggesting that Lynch isnt a tough & courageous player?
