Kind of surprised at this stance coming from you. Obviously Tom is simply fooling around with Collins here. Remember, Tom claimed an open-handed whack to the guts; it may not have been but I, for one, cannot detect what the state of his hand is for the blow. But, crucially, Collins did NOT go down then but, in fact, ran after him quite capably until his encounter with Aarts. Then he dropped like the proverbial. So was it the ferocious blow from Aarts? Or did Collins go to ground after Lynch had clearly got away to mark? Seeking a free, trying to justify it to his team/coach? Who knows except him?
As i said in one of my prior posts, Collins has got away with at least 3 similar gut-punches from behind on Tom Lynch plus the high hit on JR8. Why no focus on them I wonder?
I am puzzled by the naivety of some on here that seem just so remiss in what is going on between players on the field. The off-the-ball tugs, shoves, sly punches long before the ball arrives, but especially the attempted clever (because the art is to make it all look so incidental or at least the good ones) blocks to keep a top player from approaching the ball by using the outnumber. This is a major strategy used on the key forwards. Jack and Tom are copping a heap of this this year especially with the use of flooding to stop our attack.
As another poster reported - one who attended the game live - Collins niggled TL all game. Please wake up to reality here.
Tom deserved his fine and has copped it. Collins has escaped any scrutiny as if he is an innocent choir-boy. Witts charged in to wave the flag but was allowed off scott-free too. So certain blows are expensive; others are free hits.
Tell me again - which club is the frustrating, under-performing but incredibly indulged love-child?
PS - came back to add. If you want to see someone 'acting like a *smile*', go find the footage of Collins post-game. If his on-field behaviour gets a tick from you, watch him slam his arm into a padded concrete pillar in the rooms. I have admired the guy for finally making it back to AFL level and for how well he played this year. But I now wonder about his troubled previous career and mental health. Could easily have damaged his arm. Dew had to leave his player-meeting (which SC had absented himself from to have this puerile tantrum) and come out to soothe, calm and collect him. Like I said ...
