Luke Meehan and Conditioning team

Anyone notice Yze was limping after the game ? Gale looked to be a bit proppy too, although that could’ve been a big Presidents Lunch though.

At least Tiger Stripes Dyer (stupid name) is still upright. For now.

Sure, some of the injuries couldn't have been prevented,

But some could - the Prestia one is 100% on Meehan.

Playing a veteran who has done countless hammies 5 days after travelling to Gold Coast for round 1 - Criminal.

He needed to think bigger picture and be strong and tell Meatball to sit that one out - long season ahead, let's not put extra stress on a suspect part of your body now. Instead he going to miss what 10 weeks.

For that decision alone there should be a serious review of our fitness area. If her can't make simple risk management decisions like that one - massive eyebrow raiser.

Luke seems like a decent chap but this is his first gig running a physical performance dept. And the results aren't good.

Meehan doesn't pick the team, maybe he wasn't asked about Prestia, maybe it was a 100% a MC decision.
We really don't know. But it was definitely the wrong one.

Surely Meehan has to be able to overcome this pressure to get the right outcome.

Surely he goes that if he plays there is a 25-50% chance he will reinjure it and be out for an extended period. Don’t do it.

It wasn’t a final.

We see it even in Lynch’s behaviour after he hurt himself badly. He was lame and then took a free kick. This is what players do.

Runner should have been out to get him off immediately. It was ridiculous watching it from the southern.

The dude doesn’t have it and we keep throwing our seasons away with the mismanagement. (All IMHO). Not sure you want someone to learn on the job in this space.

Jacob Bauer will miss 4-6 weeks with a hamstring strain after suffering the injury at training last week. Bauer had been building match conditioning after an interrupted pre-season before the injury occurred.

Can we frog march him out the door and change the locks already?

Was this bad luck too?.....

Interesting if it is a re-occurrence on the same leg that bothered him through the pre-season. You'd think likely is. Even so it's yet another soft tissue long termer. :(

We’re not using enough Deep Heat.
Apparently Darren Berry put some deep heat on old Vic Cricket coach John Scholes' jox when they were leaving (Adelaide Oval?) and heading to the airport on the team bus.
Scholes couldn't tell because the change rooms were full of it....By the time he was sitting on the bus, the heat ramped up and he ended up taking his pants off on the bus and tried to wash his nads in the on board toilet. Flew home commando...
A family member of Scholes told me this story.
I suggest if we get more calf injuries, we do this to our elite performance team until morale improves.

Just rub it on the players balls before the game. They won’t stop for hell or high water and won’t feel any injury
