No he doesn't know. If Tyro plays at CHF consistently next year, and we keep McGun, he'd have to take on Connors position. Must link well with Shank though.

Why ? If Jack and Plasma are on the park I doubt McGun will be.

Just saying if he is. We don't have any other 'experienced' HFF now that Connors is gone.

Worst case scenario for Carey Mcguane is that over the last 5 weeks his value has gone from a trade off for pick 75 to a possible pick in the 40's.
Not bad!
Pity hardwick and the match committee were sleeping instead of trying him earlier in the season after vickery pulled the pin...

Forgot to mention, if it was good enough to keep walrus miller on the list to help out in the forward line, Mcguane is 10 times better value then him.
Should keep his spot on te list..

So we beat a 3rd rate essendon and he does ok and the tide swings back.

Yep.

I'm afraid I just don't see a spot for him with us next year.

No! just get rid of the bloke, that has shown more in the last 5 weeks, then the last 5 years.
Played out of position, recruited as a forward as played a defender!
He showed more then miller!

Hardwick said last night that everyone on the park was a required player next year (sic)
That included McGuane.

Reckon we will keep him. Could we find a better back-up? Probably. Would the replacement be easy to find? Doubt you'd entice many better players to play at Coburg next year. Probably easier just to give him another year and focus on other player movements.

He didn't say that at all. He said that noone was playing for their careers last night which means to me nothing more than their future will not be judged on last night's game alone. He didn't say they were all required players.

Trust me, no one from the team last night will be cut.

is that you Craig Cameron ?

I am just pointing out what Dimma actually said which was clearly reported in the press. He definitely did not say that everyone playing last night was a required player for next season. That was an embellishment from MacAvaney.

A spot in our best 22 - I completely agree with you
A spot in our best 25 - Agree also
A spot in that 26-38 range where if things conspire as they did this year and we might need bring someone in from the magoos - I really don't see why we wouldn't keep him on.
