Luke McGuane

Was rushed back due to lack of fit players, and clearly wasn't ready to play. Poor Luke.
I wished I'd played as many games for the RFC as he did.

At one stage he dived head-first into Chimp's shin. Last season, that would have been a free in our backline and an opposition shot at goal. The umpire was obviously confused.

It is damning that he played 100 games for us. Utterly damning.

Why? He is what every young footballer who wants to play at the highest level should aspire to - working your hardest, never giving up, making the most of your opportunities and and milking every last bit out of whatever ability you have.

Good luck to Lukey in his next career.

Wow, didn't think the Lions could afford to lose any more players considering those that are rumored to be wanting out.

It's over for Lucky Luke. Retiring.

been in good form too.
averaging 1.7 goals/game. to put in perspective guys like Thomas and Garlett average 1.8.
other on 1.7 include Mitch Clarke and Waite.

he would have been handy next to Jack and TV this year. oh well.

hopefully we will have some next generation McGuane's running around in 20 years.

;D

I love that Luke played 100 games for us. Got the best out of himself, and left nothing on the pitch when he walked off it. He may have been a limited player, but he never limited his work rate and determination. Had guts in spades.

Good luck Lukey.

Well done McGun. Not many have had an AFL career as successful as you.

Like Whitey, should thank Richmond everyday for the length of career he had relative to ability. Onya McGun.

Sad day for muscles and his fans (which I am one).

I will never forget the day in 2008 when buddy tried to run through Lukey and got stonewalled. That was the game where we were the last team to beat the Hawks before their premiership.

I remember one of his first games, commentator Michael Christian claimed he was going to be the next Wayne Carey.
Glory days.
