second, even if it did, the chances of being prosecuted are infintesimally small. (and even if she was prosecuted, she'd probably get $10K worth of free publicity via Today Tonight-style 'Government strongarm laws hurting batter's' story 8-

Can't agree with this at all. If people choose to obey the laws/regulations, it's there complete and utter prerogative & right to do so. There is nothing PC about that at all. You expecting someone to break the laws or regulations to suit your desires is whats out of whack.

You're not a millennial are you ?

Lazy and inconsiderate people who can't take shopping trolleys to the return bays in car parks.
Just unload their trolleys and push them aside, blocks up car parks and scratching cars.
They should all have deposit/return systems
Lazy lazy lazy.

Just think your attitude about the lid is out of whack with the potential issues from the actual cups. Good to see so many places encouraging bring your own cups now.

hard plastics take about 100,000 years to break down to micro particles. A plastic coffee lid wouldnt take that long, but maybe 100 years? It was a pretty stiff lid. Ive experimented with a paper coffee cup in my compost heap and it was soil in 6 months.

so not really out of whack at all I dont reckon. Its the old all-or-nothing contradiction argument. like asking a vegan what their shoes are made of, while you tuck into a grain fed steak.

and yes, i usually use my own cup, but was out of town (at a footy carnival in fact, that my 13 yo dominated).

But like I said, I guess its OK for people to be annoyed by the things that annoy me.

there is no law Baloo. And you can disagree as much as you want. But you've missed my point. The vast majority of 'PC brigade paranioa' is based on myths, phantoms and straw men. The idea that a swat team will descend upon you if you dispense a coffee with no lid is a classic example. Some people just love being annoyed at greenies and lefties for mostly non-existent reasons. Which is a little thing that annoys me.

No, I didn't miss it. I focused on your 2 point where if there is a law then you think the person should break it to suit your whim.

If there is no law then I agree with you but your second point assumed there was one.

Cowards in social media, general negative and poor me outlooks, also the types that try an hijack somebody's posts for there own self indulgence. (Talking Twitter not pre)

I must be getting old , but much rather the pub been where your social media was discussed, no hiding behind a screen , opinions voiced, debates debated, crossing the line dealt with, beers shared, hands shaked and life goes on. Looking forward to some social media this afternoon

Eddie saying the flare at Adelaide Oval last night that "it must have been an Adelaide United fan." ::)
Classic Eddie, says it as if he is joking, when he well knows his throwing it out there to be talked about.

Did you note that the supporters held the guy down until he got arrested? Were ropeable with the behaviour. And it has been widely reported. And I doubt it will happen again any time soon.

Soccer fans applaud and cheer the fools who light them like schoolgirls.

Are you sure about that champ? Those comments suggest you have never been to an ALeague game.
I've been to A league football and seen it on tv and there certainly seems to me quite a few fans who think flares are great and cheer on the flare lighters.

Yeah, some definitely do, mostly in the "Active Supporter" area. This makes it harder for the crowd to self-police - most of the people in those areas are active supporters that know each (and give tacit consent at least for flares). However we saw almost no flares in the second half of the A-League season - given that clubs were threatened with loss of points maybe the message has finally sunk in.

Great stuff by the Rules fans at the Adelaide Oval to detain the moron who lit it though.
