Liam McBean

Time for Bean next week vs the Dogs. Will kick a lazy 4 on debut.

Out A Edwards

Can anyone give any insight into his defensive pressure? This will be critical to him being selected IMO. Edwards was quiet today, but I noticed him exerting strength around the ball to hold it in. Scrapped, sat on blokes, was decent stacks-on fodder.

Agreed TJ. After watching a few Burgers games I am with everyone else on here who is sold on this kid as a future star. For everyone calling for him to be picked, I get the feeling it will have to be his tackling and physical pressure that gets him a game. When watching Coburg I haven't exactly been keeping an eye out for his tackling and physicality so I couldn't tell you anything, but as an 18 year old beanpole I couldn't imagine he would be ahead of McGuane or Edwards on that front.

Besides big V, is super coach going to debut any other kids or has he got on his finals blinkers on?

he doesn't dare to dream, zips.

coaches would choose to eat gruel and cabbage water at vue du monde.

Re: McBean - the legend grows

Just reading over some of the old comments and many on here were claiming that McBean was the equivalent (or better) than Joe Daniher.

Curious to know if those with such glowing endorsements still feel this way?

Played together since 8 years old.
Don't right off the Bean after one non appearance.

I wasn't one of those but it is interesting to see blokes like Daniher and Bootsma getting games (perhaps the latter says something of Carlton's depth). With Beanie not playing last week is he a chance for a game against the lowly Bulldogs this week... It could actually be a good time to blood him in but for mine the safer option is to use Azza more. He might be quiet but he does a lot of good things pressure wise. A good problem to have I guess.
