He may get a chance simply because the team is not performing but the shame will be that he won't have earned it
If he gets it then let's hope he takes it unlike what he doing in the vfl right now.

Did Menadue, CEllis, Castagna, Rioli, Drummond "earn" their places when played initially Sintiger?

If you answered honestly it would be a no. And while I doubt any have a problem with them being played, why is the rule different for McBean?

We should go with Griffiths in defence and McBean in attack. Jack, Vickery and Beanie can co-exist up forward. Rance and Griff can hold down the key defensive roles.

At least this way we can either contract those two knowing that they can play or delist them knowing that they can't.

Bang on. That is what it needs to be.

Probably need to give McBean a few games just to see if he's worth keeping. Griff could be traded and Vickery may leave as an RFA. If McBean works out then we can let one of them go, if not, then we have to try and keep them or trade for someone who can play their role, but better. However we won't know if don't throw McBean in there to at least see if he's going to sink or swim at the level. Same goes for Elton actually, because everyone wants to retire/delist Chaplin and Astbury isn't up to it, so that leaves Rance as the only true KPD size guy in the backline.

That's a fair point. Would McBean provide a better option than Hampson around the ground - both slow with little defensive effort. Hampson is better in the ruck but would McBean be better and more mobile around the ground - I don't know?

Serious question? Anyone would be better than Hampson around the ground. Hampson has to be the worst ruckman around the ground I have ever seen who has played 50 games at AFL level. That's not to say McBean should be replacing Hampson. I'd question the aerobic fitness of both McBean and Griffiths to compete in the ruck all day.

Just mentioned on Triple M that he has asked his manager to field offers.

Not going anywhere. Dan will seal him for two years where he will play VFL for that period.

im puzzled as to why they dont give him games..god knows what ellis, chaplin morris and griffiths have doen to keep gettin g called up....i just wannt see mcbean play...if he can play....before he leaves ..goes to sydney and becomes a champ

Gotta think that unless the whole existing forward line falls over through injury and/or suspension that McBean won't be playing in the AFL for Richmond.
All the years for so little return ... just seems such a waste on so many levels.

Castagna did with some very good vfl form last year and some good performances early this year. Rioli benefited from being earmarked for a role we had few options with but played well late in the pre season but I was surprised he was picked so early. Drummond did with some good vfl performances. CEllis and mendaue played well enough in the vfl and benifitted from injuries. But all of them are small/mediums and there are more spots in the team and more scope to be picked.
Mcbean is a big guy and needs to show more than the one or two players he could push out of the team and he hasn't.
I am record as saying I rate this guy but I will continually defend not picking him unless he stands up. He doesn't have to do a lot right now but he stinking it up from all reports.
I just think that if posters want to attack the incumbents fro stinking it up in the afl they should be more balances and not defend a guy who can't get a kick in the vfl when the opportunity is staring him in the face.
It's very disappointing to me and I am sure to many.

Pfft. Good luck to him.
Wonder which VFL club will chase him?

Sin I am a fan of your work generally but your post is just nonsence.

Rioli played zero VFL, Corey 2 games, Drummond similar, Menadue a few.

I get that we are despearate for run and silk and they have come at an opportune time.

However Beanie has built his case from day 1. 4 goals on debut. 36 goals in his first 13 games before his injury in game 14.

Second and first in the Frosty miller in 2014 and 2015 despite playing less games than those above or joined with him.

127 goals in 50 games. 38 goals in his last 13 averaging 2 contested mark a game.

There have been so many opportunities to play him and A Edwards, Mcguane, Gordon, Morris, Chaplin Hampson and others have been preferred let alone the invisible Griifiths.

His treatment cannot be justified either in terms of our needs or his development or just on basic equity and common sense grounds.

I wonder what the application of that group is when it comes to training and putting in the extra effort.

Well it might explain why Morris gets a game. You should join the Richmond selection committee where actual performance on the park is irrelevant and 'Richmond way' intangibles rule the roost.

I'm no expert just a humble supporter, but surely he has done as much as Hunt Moore townsend, hampson and Morriss in the VFL to be given a chance

What do we have to loose now if they give him a game, at least it will answer the question once and for all if he can play
Hes not going to get any better by continuing to languish in the twos.

I'm asking a simple question mutton, not implying anything. You've become so easily bruised over McJeses that you're making millenniums look tough.
