Kane Lambert

This is concerning. We have a stampade of players and now coaches associated with the past era getting out.

Kane was given a bigger role in the last half of the year when Teague left, if we knew he was going, which is what the club is trying to make out, why give him the experience? Why not upskill Ziebell who is staying?

Something is rotten at Punt Road but those leaving are saying the right things. I can't tell if that is true or not. But if doesn't feel like things are culturally right and the organisation is aligned and pulling in the right direction.

Shane Dunne has a mammoth job.

This is concerning.

Kane choosing a new career outside of football can't be linked to a player exodus. He's making a life changing decision so would have thought long and hard if he wanted to continue the AFL route or not. If anything, blame the softcap on coaches limiting their earning capacity and making a career in the AFL no longer attractive.

Now, if he was going to GCS or joining one of his other former coaches at their new clubs, that would be a different story.

Depends on the level of assistant, but all would be over 100k.

Its a VERY consuming job though, like all AFL roles, and can be hard on people with young families

Agree. Disconnection everywhere.

Maybe not but the decision is made easier. Something stinks.

Club really has landed on its knees.

We’ve gone from 3 premierships to trying to be Geelong like to wood spoon to mass exodus.

How do you know that?

He's got two young kids. His wife can easily support the family. He went straight from player to coach/player dev mid-season. He's had a year and a bit of it. Maybe it's as simple as deciding the time-consuming pressure cooker of AFL just isn't what he thought it would be and wants to go a different way.

That's as good a guess as assuming it's related a couple of older players wanting out.

Nothing to be worried about.

Depends greatly on the level of the assistant - but expect $150K to $180K in a full-time non-development role.

More if head-hunted at the high end.
For the work they do and the money the AFL makes, this amount is embarrassing for the league.

Yep. Should have gone n become Mold Coast years ago. All the snivelling n manipulating n pure socialism of the AFL simply engenders an overload of beige mediocrity. It's virtually impossible to strive for improvement and achievement when the AFL constantly manipulates the system to retain the beige beholden.

At least we got here in time and in position to pillage what is hopefully one of the best drafts of the last 20 years. Just in time to beat the arrival of the Taswegia team. Plus we'll be able to bank some underpaid cap space for a couple of years which will give us plenty of space to top up developing players pays plus look to poach some premium mature players in a couple of years.
If we get things right, we scrape our arses down the bitumen for a few years n then come roaring back to scare the *smile* out of the other clubs n AFLHQ.
Well, I hope that's the plan at least, coz I'm seriously *smile* if I gotta try n hang around for 37 years again before some more premierships.
