If anything, it backs up what I have said before.....that things can change around quickly if we get all our infrastructures and off-field personnel right.

Well said. We must have hope.

At least off field, we're getting it right via staff appointments, process (such as the coaching role) and profit (we must clear our debt to be able to compete on-field). If you re-build the correct structure, eventually it will turn around on the field.

depressing fact: now that carlton has been confirmed as a participant in this years finals series, we are now the only team left who hasn't made the finals since 2002.

an even more despressing fact: if brisbane and essendon also make the finals (which appears likely), it will mean that every team bar richmond has made the finals since 2006. so in the space of 4 years (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009), every AFL team bar richmond will have made the finals, with our last apearance being a further 5 years behind in 2001.
