Josh Caddy

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Some have suggested that Caddy is a "plodder" from what I have seen he is actually fairly quick. So I for 1 am looking forward to seeing him in action for the Tiges.

It was for his position jb, wasn't for a particular part of his play....

Big Jack, I've seen a lot of him also and he really came on in 2015 when selwood was down and his inside work lifted and he had a great year, with another selwood and danger he didn't get nearly as much time in the middle yet his number actually still improved, im guessing Blake has said out of the needs we have this bloke is a good solid player still improving in right age bracket etc... personally i would rather Caddy than pick 24

Fair enough, Tt. I'd rather roll the dice. But not just on Caddy, if it comes to that.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

What I notice are:
can kick long
knows where the goals are
has aggression
can run

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Apart from his own output Caddy's value will be that he releases Cotchin to play more of an outside role.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

I'm sure this thread will give the DP thread a run for its money.

Coming from a fair way back m sure it will overtake the DP thread for round 1.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

If we ended up picking a kid at #24 that turned out to be as good as Caddy, We would all have been over the moon

He is an automatic best 12 in our team and starting inside mid that gets us 20+ poss a game

Hes not slow, Sub 3 sec is actually not that far off the best and also has a 15 beep

THis Kid Can Play and Play Hard

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

I have a few Geelong supporter friends and it is amazing how this guy has become an overated hack in the last week.

By us & the media or cause he has left them so they don't rate him now ?

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Hope he turns out ok but in times where we need to make up serious ground on the opposition we should be using a pick 24 to unearth an A grader we are settling for a C B- grader coz its easier this way and it suits our conservative approach where just making the finals is a success.

See IMO they've got it arse-about. He WAS an overrated hack, now he's a solid contributer with heaps of scope for improvement.

Hopefully this b grader though eases the burden on a couple of our a graders though (Cotchin Martin)

If pick 24 unearth a B grader you'd be very happy.

I understand, but disagree with, that thinking.

For me, the thinking should go

'Lets draft someone so good, that Cotchin and Dusty protect him'

yeah thats how I think. He was an over-rated plodder in blue and white.

In Yellow and Black, he could easily win a brownlow.

Yeah. Caddy's can be a solid B+ for me. If you could guarantee that sort of player in the draft you'd take them in the teens

My Geelong supporter mates never rated him and are happy to see the back of him. They reckon he is a turnover merchant.
