James Reyne Appreciation Society

Don't know about the Angels overrated but agree with the rest.

Is Kylie a band? ;D
100% agree with you Tigerforce....I reckon the angels were under-rated ! In some ways I preferred their style to AC/DC No disrespect to them but songs like Marseilles and "She keeps no secrets from you"absolutely smoked I reckon. And James Reyne? One of a kind vocalist and iconic Aussie legend but he was a pain in the ass to a lot of singers I worked with because before the Internet was thought of....It was so hard to learn the words to his lyrics because of his vocal style!

I liked AC/DC more as a 70's band with Bon Scott, whereas The Angels were one of my faves in the 80's.

It was frustrating to understand James Reyne's lyrics but at least he had the best Aussie mullet of the 80's.....IMO ;D

Have just discovered his latest album - Thirteen. Out last year apparently and a typically great listen from the great man.

'Stop' being the standout during early listening.

Seeing him today at" Between The Bays" concert!!!!!!( along with Tim Finn and Hoodoo Gurus)

No accoustics...loud and rocken!! What didnt he play? All his solo singles..slave etc etc most of the Aussie crawl hits( notable exceptions Indisposed and Hoochi Gucci). Apparently his kids went to the school that host this concert--and he has been doing it for some years!
