Ivan Soldo

all you need do is look at Fyfe and Ablett x2. the discrepancies are way out of control ..

*Hawthorn's medical report says Worpel did not require treatment, while no further ongoing treatment will be required.

*Soldo says he is 204cm, while Worpel is 185cm. He says he intended to brace for contact with the Hawthorn player.

*Soldo says Worpel stepped into his line as he attempted to make his way from the area.

*Soldo said he was "stunned" by Worpel coming at him, saying his actions were based on instinct.

*Soldo says he apologised to Worpel immediately after the incident, saying it wasn't his intention to strike him.

*The AFL's legal counsel, Jeff Gleeson QC, says that the reasonable action for a player to brace for contact would be to tuck his arms in, rather than raise them as Soldo did.

*Soldo's legal representative, Sam Tovey, says it was an instinctive reaction to contact initiated by another player that he was not expecting.

The video footage clearly shows Worpel coming at Soldo, he wasn't expecting it and merely put his arms out and protected himself, he didn't go after him, Worpel is 24cm shorter, hence the clumsy high contact. The thug Mumford clearly goes out of his way and uses his knees to onpurposely hurt Murphy and gets off, while Soldo gets suspended for protecting himself with a player running at him. AFL are a disgrace and i think have an Agenda against us. They want an even competition, they want the Bombers up there playing finals and this was a deliberate decision to sabotage us making it harder for us to win on Saturday. How Fyfe, Ablett, Mumford who were all deliberate actions looking to hurt the opposition get off and Soldo gets done is astounding.

Just a joke of an organisation.
The sooner someone like a Brian Cook / Brendan Gale takes over, the better the competition will be.

Id rather Gale stays and we keep winning premierships in a corrupt organisation

than he goes, and we dont win premierships in a transparent, well governed organisation.

we just need to keep winning.

Yeah easy my preference as well. Makes the premierships just that more sweeter!

A much needed voice of reason et.

But jeeez its so bloody frustrating!

It just seems to be a never ending circus at the AFL & the clowns have ruined the game! What a joke!

From the AFL’s tribunal feed:

‘The AFL's legal counsel, Jeff Gleeson QC, says that the reasonable action for a player to brace for contact would be to tuck his arms in, rather than raise them as Soldo did.’

Protecting yourself by putting your arms by your side? I’m tipping the QC’s not much of a pugilist.

Yes that's right when you are suddenly under threat your natural action should be to stand there like a pencil.

It was always going to happen. Can't have blokes elbowing week in week out. Make a stand by rubbing out the 10 gamer.

Yes what a joke - they are a shambles, just plain amateurs pretending to be professionals - the only way we can change this is if Balme, gale, Hardwick etc all take up regular media gigs.

Hope he kicks a hole in the wall on the way out and files a racism case with the AAT.

MRP would add another 4 weeks for the 'kicking in an AFL wall offence with intent and potential to harm'. Caveat - unless you are a Brownlow medalist then you can kick in as many holes in an AFL wall as you like (exception: Dustin Martin).

I don't get it why? Is that not what the appeals system is for - to appeal.

Oh hang on - I get it you are saying Richmond should be asking for the please explain. :-[

How can they clear Fyfe and then suspend Soldo. Why didn’t they go with the previous week verdicts.
Absolute joke.
