Ivan Soldo

And some people want Ryan in!

Added real trade value today.
Ok I will bite. If we are to move forward we need Ryan playing as that second forward. Playing Soldo has nothing to do with it. The question is can you play Soldo and Nank in the same team moving forward.

Ryan needs to take it off Ivan, not given it because he’s allegedly the heir apparent

Realistically he is our best “ Ruck” going into next season , Nanks body is on borrowed time , Ryan imho will probably play more forward with hopefully Lynch next season , Colina has lost the entire year so he’s progression will have gone even further back .

Trading Soldo could get us a nice pick or good player of need , however I think we’ll need him next season .

Played with some real intent yesterday. Maybe he lifted for Cotchin & Riewoldt, (Croats are fiercely loyal) or he's getting some confidence back in his body.
Either way, yesterdays Soldo is the Soldo we need, week in week out.

Nank is totally cooked but it doesn't really matter if we aren't contending next year.

After Goldstein had given Nank a bath for a bit Soldo when in and laid down the law.

Racing in very weak company Soldo proved a class above.

But you don’t get Xerri and Gramps Goldstein every week.

That said, Busty Soldo’s form was encouraging.

Next week he may meet no ruck at all or Visentini. (Hayes is a potato.)

On the basis of a small post knee bounce sample Ivan may now be our #1 ruck.

I still think Nank still has it, it may pay to play him in the forward line then around the ground instead of centre bounces? He did extremely well in previous matches.

He's finally put on the bulk and is starting to get the game. Not a time to be getting rid of him

It was an interesting look up forward.
Ok we were against poor opposition but that was the most potent we have looked nearly all year.
One minute Ivan's cousin Ivan was bobbing up for a mark.
Then Nankenstein.
Then ArkMan.
At ground level $hai was mopping up all the crumbs.
Aston Martin was humming nicely.
Even Jackmond got going in the last quarter. (apart from his finishing)
We certainly "left some Goals out there" as is the lingo these days.

Wonder weather TheLynchMob and ArkMan can strike up an alliance next year. (Gibber in D50.)

Ivy was def on angry pills. Suits his game.
In some games Ivvy and Nank look really good, super effective even.
And in others not so.
If Ivvy can play to this level next year he may finally get some regular senior footy.
Suppose it depends on the new coach.

he finally has the confidence in his knee again, and his fitness is better, showed in the way he played

I loved his goal where one of our guys had marked around 50m out ... Soldo started trotting towards goal and pointing behind him ... then the other guy kicked to where Soldo was pointing as Soldo doubled back to mark it.

It's not rocket science to have a lumbering giant executing some simple forward craft like this - not everyone has to master complex leading patterns. If you could pencil in 2-3 goals a game to your ruck combo, that would be a big plus, especially if, in combination with the permanent tall forwards, it made the likes of May, Lever, Moore, Andrews, etc more accountable, which in turn reduced their intercept marking.

Is improving and I don’t want to lose him.

Unfortunately Nank is near the end .

Samson is still raw but I’ve like what I’ve seen.

Soldo seems to have got his confidence back in his body and yes granted it was against Fitzroy, sorry North!

But he pushed Gawn when we played Melb for 3 quarters but ran out of ‘petrol’. He had only just returned from an interrupted season .

Forgetting the ruck hitouts as the big lug normally holds his own there anyway, thought his around the ground marking and efforts to get front position were encouraging
