Ivan Maric

Glad we only gave pick 37, but a good pick-up nonetheless - I suggest people go find the Richmond v Adelaide game from Round 7, 2010. Was close to BOG.

Impressive highlights package beat Brogan a few times in the hitouts and took many 1 grab marks.
A definite upgrade from Graham.
Welcome aboard Ivan :gotigers :gotigers

cheers mate. Can keep his feet in a contest as well and isn't pushed around by flankers.

WOW someone who can mark (above head) and WOW someone who can tap the ball (place body on the line and tap our way). This bloke can really help at our centre and around the ground plays. REALLY excited about this trade.

What are his hits to advantage stats? the highlights showed a lot of this happening.

Was 4th in the AFL for it last year.

Good trade.

Gee some people are embarassing themselves based on 2 minutes of highlights culled from 3 games. He averages 3.5 kicks, 2.7 marks, 6.0 handballs, 0.4 goals a game. Exactly the same as Gus. He is better in the ruck, but that is all.

Not much of a upgrade. he kicks and marks (will out mark someone half his size) better than Gus buts that is about it.

I had a look through his SANFL stats. He didn't do a whole lot but it looked like he was playing the forward/2nd ruck role not just ruck.

Average disposals 11.8
Average Hitouts 21.8
average Goals 1

Oh well, these guys probably have very little to do during the day anyhow.

Almost looks like a Tigers Guernsey the way the slogan is type set.

Once again, welcome Ivan.

I see a trend emerging .......... aggression !!!!!!!

Go Dimma, Go Tiges.

Don't compare stats. Maric is a much better ruckman then Graham.

He's a better option than what the team currently has, at least until Griffith can handle CHF and TV can move into the ruck.

At the end of the day we now have a mature bodied ruckman and 3 developing ruckman, with one of them an unknown at present, who could be the next AFL star for all us Mondays-experts know.

But good to see the darksiders are still about, despite our progress this year and last.

If i'm reading it right, Hartley sounded him out early in the season and i'm guessing put a proposal to him many months ago.. Can we put this down to him not improving on his 2010 season when he showed a fair bit? who's to know.. But i would be certainly looking at his 2010 stats more than his 2011 stats.. He appears to have aggression and will to contest which is a bit more than Gus. My question is does he have more intelligence which is important to the game in this day and age..

i think he's a good pick up and will serve us better than we have been in the past.. I have high hopes pinned on Browne so it gives him some time now instead of being thrust into the number 1 ruck spot and probably ruining him for good
