Ivan Maric

Cooked like a roast. Had two good years. Now living off his reputation as a top bloke and his flowing mullett

Could not jump, could not bend over, and could not run, never got past a slow gallop, why was he out there? His body is shot by the looks of tonight

One mark for the game and it was a simple chest mark. What has happened to his marking?

I think we are the worst marking team in the league. After Jack we have no other decent marking option to kick to when kicking down the line.

With the cupboard very very bare I would play Mric and Chol together both can mark and kick a goal, so play one on ball as ruck and the other alternating forward, Hammer is definitely not the answer... Love Ivan but his days are numbered and probably were last year but that's not his fault its recruiting

Maric nor Hampson should not be in next week. Absolutely pointless and both were completely ineffective around the ground. Time to try out Griffiths/Vickery/McBean, we may as well see if they sink or swim.

But it wont happen. Dimma is too set in his ways to try something like that.

the coaches shouldn't play him - maybe they are confused between the footy ground and the pasture?
stick him in the forward line and leave him there is the only idea i have...

Bad game ? or as many suggest body not up to it?

I dont think Maric would be the type of person to keep going if he is not up to it, would put his hand up and say, sorry guys, the game has passed me, the mind wants to but the body no longer can.

If selected this Friday night, I hoping that he has some fumes left in the tank. If dropped, experiment with the other 200cm+ players and find out once and for all if they can play ruck for a sustained period.

Disagree. He's a warrior, fighter. He won't give up until he forced too.

But Ivan does start seasons slowly so maybe there is still some life left in our lovable Clydesdale

hope your right, his inability to bend to put his hands on the ball, and attempt some soccer efforts to get the ball forward on Saturday night rang alarm bells. His inability to clunk marks playing in front, more alarm bells.

we all love him... but ,...........

Playing him together with Hampson hurt him. He didn't attend that many ball ups and centre bounces. His best work is done with his big body around the ball, his clearance work and smart hands. Not denying we need some serious ruck help but he's still far and away the better option than Hampson out of the two IF we want to win.

With Hammer's recent emergence to decent, Ivvy's the forgotten man right now.
However the VC but can still play an important role at VFL level and such is his personality I'm sure he will. This will be a good thing.

I agree Oldie, super smart footballer. Together with a healthier list which allows someone like a Conca or a better skilled kid to run through the seconds occasionally it lifts the team.

No co-incidence Beanie's form gets an uptick with Maric in and someone like Conca or (unbelievably) Miles in the twos.
