Early prognosis

In a rare bit of good injury news for the Tigers, Jayden Short is expected to play against Melbourne on Monday night after three weeks off with a calf issue. Youngster Campbell is also a test ahead of a VFL return. Graham and Soldo are also closing in on returns, while Nankervis and Lynch now have rough timelines on their returns. – Sarah Black

They also have early points in the bank
No doubt, Craig. That’s the whole reason for the phoney season. The reigning Premier and runner up are at least a month behind and dud sides are fully wound up trying to bank enough points to squeak the eight. And maybe sell a few scarves.

Hardwick said after 2018 that he thought we were wound up too early. We all think that sides that are wound up too early fade. That may be a myth but most of us believe it.

The Phoney Season is drawing to a close. But 2023 is shaping as a record for phoneyness. How bout those spoony Cats?

Maybe we can ask them to loan us Brando and Cholly back, just like in junior footy games where one side is players short, just to even the teams up a bit?

Great to see Gibcus into the short term now. Hopefully he will be back into the VFL for some minutes in a few weeks.

Gutted to see Seth Campbell slide back out with the adductor again, I was looking forward to see what he could do in the VFL forward of centre, I have high hopes for the kid.

We have the slowest healers in the comp.
Gawn has a knee issue.
Woe is me (Dees fans), out for 8 weeks?
No, eff me, they found a knee on ebay.
Yep, back in 3.

Tommy out for 12 weeks.
Maybe longer.

Nankenstein, notoriously slow healer.
Now we've got Gibber going down same path.
Fridge another.

Bad ju-ju with the Injury Gods.
Need a sacrificial offering to appease.
Any suggestions?

Wouldnt Short term be 3-4 ?
Considering MJR has a hamstring so he'd be at least 3 weeks?

Honestly the Colina farce just needs to end. Have they promised him a contract simply because he is related to Balta. There is no other reasoning. The guy has zero agility, zero football knowledge and he cant even get on the field to train. He's been injured for the last 2 years. Get an athletic freak that can at least make the track and have some chance of succeeding.

He really doesnt cost us anything apart from min cash

We have no idea how bad his back is or how he hurt it , Sometimes speculative risks are worth persevering with and should never expect dividends in the first 2-4 years but when they deliver they could be huge.

Keep on the Cat B rookie list for 3-4 years and never know he may just be that massive Ruck that wins us the GF that the other team doesnt have an answer for Mason Cox is 32 and did nothing apart from 5-10 good games but ig the Pies make the GF this year he could just as well be 'That Player"
