Personally I tend to believe Richardson > Hinkley > Hardwick, but I'll be happy with whoever is selected by The Process.

why don't we just give the job to the process?

I think that good coaches like Matthews, Sheeds, Woosha and Malts all have that steely-eyed 'aura' about them. Can see that in Hardwick - nothing like it about Hinkley.

i'm sold, forget any cheese sanwiches, hardwick it is ::)

Anyone seen the video on The Hun, showing Hinkley giving a 3qtr time speech, it's spine tingling! Awesome stuff

Just saw it.

Glad he has that fire in the belly, I looked at Hinkley from the outside and saw him as a more astute maybe teacher persona, but to have that in his make up is great.

Looks good to me.

We need a bloke who is an absolute c......!

Our guys are soo soft it is not funny, the fear of God needs to be put into them everytime they play.

Some may say no that is the old fashioned way, it doesn't work on Generation Y, the inspirational speeches wear thin pretty quickly.

Well look at Malthouse, those mongrels don't have a team of stars, they have a disciplined, well drilled unit who does their job week in week out. Don't tell me he doesn't scare the crap out of players like Thomas, Anthony, Beams and Didak for that matter.

While we are rebuilding, so we are not a complete and utter basketcase for the next 3 years our blokes need to go back to old fashioned 100's, run till you spew training.

And while we are at it send them to Kokoda it sure won't do them any harm.

I will contribute some money to get them there.

Give the man a 5 year contract. :hihi

I want Hardwick. We need someone who will set some very basic team rules that are non negotiable.

We need a dictator at the moment. For the next three years we need a iron fist approach.

Interesting comments echoed a lot at the moment. How will the fear of god make Jackson or Rance or White or Hislop or Graham or Tuck make better decisions with or without the ball? Nothing wrong with their commitment or courage - just mostly dumb footballers. Our coach will (a) need to promote and/or recruit the smart (real) players and then get them to play as a team with a strategy that works. He will need credibility with the team and whether that is through reputation ,a steely stare or the power ofhios message or personaility - who knows - but grunt and huff and puff without smarts just means more pain - look at the Collingwood game again and it wasn't commitment that was our problem but football stupidity with Tuck, Macmahon Graham Rance and Jackson key contributors

agree. our players have a go most of the time, but are just not up to it. we need to play at 120% and the opposition to drop below 70% for us to be a chance. most weeks our guys put in 100%, but when your best isn't good enough, it's just a matter of time before you throw in the towel and get belted. can't blame the players really. most just don't have the ability. motivation and a hard nosed coach can do so much with this group. we need a coach who is focussed on R&D - recruitment and development, and can build a list. it will take time. the new coach should be given 3 years and extended if he's on the right path. need to build the foundations first and implement a basic game plan focussed on accountability and teamwork ethic. need this guy to work closely with CC and the recruiters and build an AFL team

Am I missing something? Maybe I was expecting too much but the video did little for me. Seemed standard fare to me. I am happy sitting back and waiting for the Club to announce their decision. First time I can recall that we seem to be doing the right thing.
