'The Process' should be our next senior coach, no one really knows who or what it is which means its safe from ferals.

I'd prefer Hardwick, he's been associated with 3 Premierships, 2 as a player and 1 as an assistant, so he knows what's required from both sides. Also strikes me as a tough character, not afraid to make the hard and unpopular decisions, he's also had a thorough apprenticeship and seen the methods of 3 different coaches and styles. Then again I thought Wallace would be good for the club.

Still waiting for somebody to point me at a video with either of these guys speaking.

I wouldnt even recognise them from a bar of soap :)

Said this a while ago....Hinkley was on AW or SEN pre- a Cats game weeks ago...this guy is a superb speaker...geez I don't think he even used a typical football cliche....put it this way, if Hinkley ever uttered the football "word" "anythink" I would be shocked. Hardwick I've never heard but if he spoke better than Hinkley he should probably be doing ABC news.

Who cares how they speak, I just want a good coach. I guess they can go hand in hand though. We need a freaking motivator to get the best out of our soft and lazy sooks. :hihi

It's the only evidence most fans have as to what the person is like, that's why it's important.

I have no idea really as to who is better. I lean toward Hardwick because he was a harder unit and had more of a struggle to make it as a player.

Two things with Hinkley:

1) he is credited with getting Mooney to pull his head straight and play more disciplined play

2) he was at Geelong when they had the "home truths" reform, where they worked to get rid of the traditional selfish individual focus of the players (and the club) to one where its all about team

That sounds good T74. I know Hinkley as a player but never noticed him as assistant coach as much as Richo and Hardwick.

I personally would go for Richardson. He has shown enough in a few development roles what he can do and he has coached his own team.

I'm with Tango

Think Hinkley is the best choice if only because Hardwick will always have the Port inheritance option up his sleeve should the Tiges disappoint him.

And we all know what the RFC does best, at the moment.

You can guarantee if March ever fails to stamp Hardwick's report card, aka the Walace 5/10 incident, that the Port Board will be whispering sweet nothings to him.

Nice pont by the way T74, nothing like being in the middle of a good old fashion bloodletting to undertand how to set one up yourself.

I am starting to swing toward Hinkley at the moment and here's the link I found to an article where several of the key Geelong players credited him with being instrumental in their development;

I voted 'either'.
Didn't want Frawley or Wallace when they were appointed.
Initially I wanted Hardwick but Hinkley's credentials are very good. Now I don't mind if either of them get it. The process may yet see Richardson get the job and while I don't see that as ideal, I will respect the outcome of the 'process'.

Having said that I reckon Hinkley will get it. :)

Hinkley was selling cars at Rex Gorells in Geelong before deciding being an Assistant Coach would be less stressful - that kinda tallies with the belief that he knows how to sell a message to his players, to say nothing of the thick skin he'd need at Punt Rd.

In racing parlance, he seems to have got the perfectly timed rails run for our role

The cheese sandwich will be stiff to miss out tho, very popular amongst the playing group

I'd prefer Hinkley, but any coach that doesn't get our players all shitty for them to spit the dummy and put in pathetic insipid performaces, will do.

When did it become a race between 2 people? Can anyone say with 100% assurance that Richardson will not be considered?
