Must go alright then mate atm true wishes not a champ but just honest

It's called pedros runaway. Running at healesville today second up after injury. He is confident it should win but won't be any good odds.

He has another one that flies but is a non-chaser. Has taken it coursing.

Update true wishes won tnite at sale paying 17 bux off to final next week

Well done scooty, hope you had a little wager on it at those odds. Good luck in the final.

Looks like my mate's dog pedro's runaway has not come back from injury well. He ran 3rd but didn't stretch out and will most likely be retired.

Thats a shame mate yeah thanks its just a thrill to be there

See you finished 2nd in the final, well done. nice odds the place too. Looks like a good honest dog you've got.

Interesting times in greyhound racing last week the state's leading trainer had a dog test positive to meth and this week 10 people had their registration's canceled after they were found giving dogs live baits at the Torraddin trial track .

Greyhound racing is one of the most intriguing things I've ever heard of
And 140 posts in 10 years sums it up
It's a niche interest at best
The good thing is no humans involved during the race
The bad thing is humans still interfere far too much
Maybe an enthusiast can give us some idea as to why they have a passion for the dishlickers

Ok-i trained for 10 years.....recently gave them up about 4 months ago, due to new job/new baby/new house.
I loved it.
great animals.
keeps you fit.
cheap to get involved in.
they race normally 30-40 times a year.
no huge outlay
enjoyed training the animal to try and win races (i was a dog lover) before greyhounds anyway.

but yes, big sotry on four corners tonight at 8:30.....greyhound racing is going to take a battering in the media the next few weeks,,,,mainly due to live kills of rabbits and possums.

i dont agree with doing this and didnt

but i dont think its a HUGE deal, what about duck shooting, fox shooting etc?
same *smile* i reckon

The seedy side of the industry exposed. Have seen live chooks used as a cheap alternative and been told joeys are the luxury option.

Can recall 60 Minutes doing a story on this many years ago when it had credibility. Will make a lot of people uncomfortable.

Some might argue it's less dishonest than doping. Greyhound racing's a niche sport so neutrals will get angry for a day or two before moving on.

Agree it's a niche industry , but when you have leading trainers earning 4 -5 million in prize money per year people are going to push the envelope .

You reckon shooting a fox or duck is the same as tying a live animal to a lure, spinning it around a track, and setting dogs after it to tear it to shreds? Weird sense of proportion there.

It also may have excaped your notice, but fox and duck hunting is legal, while live baiting is most definitely not.

Would be interested to know if "you don't agree with doing this and didn't" did you report it????

Not a big deal! Okay, if it's not a big deal then I guess it's okay for the bastards to face the same fate and be eaten alive by dogs like they do in North Korea. Fine by me. As for other forms of hunting, I'm also for the evening up of the odds by allowing 'duck hunter hunters' and so on.

Humans are such gutless arrogant beings.

I reckon it's a massive deal and am glad the cruel, barbaric practice that's gone on for years has finally been put under the spotlight.

Didn't see it but heard that animals attached to the lure were reused and not put out of their misery.

Makes me want to give up on humanity sometimes.
