they can change the lighting on the Matagarup bridge which goes over the Swan river, it looked very good all lit up in red and blue after the game.
It was a great day for sure Tigerman. The facilities are the best I've been too. No complaints about the place at all. Access to it is simple, egress is quick and functional. Tick tick tick.
I live up north now, south gero, and our new bridge follows the lighting theme of the day. Last night it was the dees colours. The city is going alright.
Ezyt you will enjoy your time if you make it to a decent game.

Melbourne for all there *smile* ups through out the last 57 years.
Have built a quality side.
Petrecca Oliver Gawn Rivers Sparrow Jackson are all top notch.
I cant see how they don't snag another flag with those in the side.
*remember we were up gainst them in the 2nd qtr when were playing at our worse.
Good match up next year

We would have to out work them first.
They owned every line on the ground apart from a few minutes in the second.
They owned space, they owned numbers at the drop of the ball and made the dogs kick it to them.
I feel our age is going to require us to get one or 2 more big bodies in the middle to stay relevant, maybe RCD steps up and we need only one more.

Not a skerrick of a doubt that we we have to have an equivalent midfield to the MFC, forget about our impeneratable back line or a fit and firing forward line. For the RFC to be up there again in 2022, the midfield resource needs to be our focus!

Last night and against Geesook they just waltzed it straight out of the front of the centre bounde contests. I was surprised Dogs did not position a defensive side mid after the first 4.
My worry is we have not until now valued clearances. You cannot let Melbourne win easy ones like that because they do not give you the second chance. We will definitely need more midfield clearance beasts to compete and imo we won’t have them next year. Hope I’m wrong but don’t see the signs from the current young crop and anyone we draft won’t be up for it straight up next year. After that our warriors will be done and dusted.

Intensity looked like a Richmond game. Save petrol tickets in Q2 for an all-out assault in Q3 and Q4.

No surprise they have our fitness guy. That’s some serious IP right there.

Just back on Basil Simpleton, he is a hopeless jerk.

I mean, he’s not hopeless at being a jerk. He’s great at being a jerk. And he’s hopeless.

Basil is the perfect example of the saying.......you don't have to have a long neck, to be a goose.

We have Peter Burge, they have Darren Burgess. Confusing, I know.

I believe Burgess will be at Adelaide is 2022 but I may be wrong,

melbourne had a full squad less one for the past month, it makes a big difference ( if Gawn, petracca & oliver were in & out in the past 2 months,, it would be a different story) if need your top side playing consistent footy in the back end of the season.

Oh yeah you could be right, cheers.

In any case, Melbourne seemed to switch off in Q2 and I wonder if it was by design.

absolutely.

Dees 2021 had so many similarities to our 2017, when we went unchanged all September.

the on-field ingredients to a flag seem to boil down to:

half a dozen A grade players in the 22-28 bracket (including at least 1, ideally 2 superstar unstoppable freaks), no injury, continuity (injury and form), luck, belief, your bottom 6 playing roles very well and your middle 10 all in career best form and playing selflessly to allow the A-graders to get the choccies.

I've noticed a lot of red & blue supporters around the streets who were in hibernation for some time.
