Grand Final 2020 Thread Richmond Vs Geelong / Game Day Thread

If I could borrow Warnies script writer for the day I’d say Geelong to get out to a 4 goal lead by qrt time , a 7 goal lead by HT. Geelong and their supporters dreaming of a beautiful GF victory. Then by 3/4 T the Tigers have whittled it back to a 4 goal deficit. Then in the last Q the Tigers cut the deficit to down to 5 points with 10 seconds to play, Selwood gives away a free to Lynch who did a “Selwood” by dropping the knees to earn an over the shoulder free kick. Tom from 75m out goes the torp and the ball goes over the pack for a goal. The goal umpire soft calls a goal but wants to check that it wasn’t touched. Replays are inconclusive, might’ve been touched by a finger but it’s cleared as a goal! Tigers by a point. I think that’d be a result Geelong and their fans are worthy of.
Please remember that some supporters are getting to the stage of having cardiac issues that need to be carefully managed.

The one thing I can't deal with is seeing Diverflog winning a medal. Would take a suspension start of next year to make sure that doesn't happen. Come on Cotch you beauty of a battering ram.

No, no, no. Let's just have an awesome start, get up by enough to somewhat relax and enjoy where we are at.

Can't take another close on like last week.

Haha.......only mix it with the cheap scotch , and only do that to make the drink last a little longer so that my drinking buddies don’t fall too far behind...
Most considerate there Jetboy.

Your concern for others stamps you as a Richmond Man.

I have set aside a special blended malt to enjoy tonight.

I was hoping caddy would come in.
Likewise. Especially in these conditions which will take pace out of the game especially early. More height, strong in the air, hard tackling at ground level. Good converter. The versatility to play forward, wing or midfield.

Much more to offer than Castagna tonight. The under-performer who has a bit of a charmed life better do plenty tonight ... and find the gap between the big sticks. So make sure you get it done, JC.

Anyway, Shai is the wildcard in this match IMO. Got to kick straight boys - Tom, Jack, Dusty and co. Good luck boys!

Well this is it boys and girls. I've been keeping myself occupied all day so that the nerves don't build up too much. But now the TV is on and I'm about to pour the first drink.

I've received some support from mates that barrack for neutral clubs which is nice. Even my Port Adelaide supporting son in law is right behind the Tigers.

As is my way, the HMAS Quickdraw will now dip below the waves, commence silent running and observe radio silence.

The wet will help us. Bring the pressure boys!

See you all on the other side. :gotiges
Same as you Quickdraw McGraw.
Going to watch, observe and hopefully we see each other after the game. WIN

Waiting’s views
————————

-First contest
-Get our Match ups right
-Dusty in the middle or FF ditto for Danger
-Be switched on for the long bomb from the Cats as we were caught ‘napping’ against the Lions & PA in the first quarter.
-our Smalls to work hard at keeping the ball locked in, pressure, harass, tackle and hit the scoreboard when we have opportunities as this will be a low scoring game. Maybe a 50-60 points type game ( each side).
-Dusty BOG we win.
-Captain courageous Cotchin
-Lynch & Jack ( 3 between in them in a low scoring game ).
-bang for buck. We got to put scoreboard pressure when we have dominant periods.
-our improved clearance game. Can it continue tonight against a big bodied Cats outfit.
-Proper footwear
-Scott’s disrespect towards us. Will that be talked about.
-who played their GF last week?
-who has gears to go when it’s required.?
-Our wingmen will be required to do a mountain of work to help out our backs but if there is an opportunity they got to hit the scoreboard.
-will there be any surprise match ups?

-Hawkins in the ruck. Can’t allow him front position. Nank has to be the ruck against & fill the hole to help at times his defence.
-Nanks support. Who will it be?
-They have a tall back line. Got to bring it to ground.

-Fairytales. The ‘karma footy gods’ will decide that I guess. They tend to not care too much about fairytales. Hope it continues tonight.
-This will be one of the most brutal openings of a GF we have seen in a long time. First 5-10 mins critical.

-Which coach will hold their nerve.

Just cracked my 2nd Mornington Pale Ale....amazed I've been that disciplined. Seriously considered getting stuck in hard around 3.30pm and then just going to bed and checking the scores in the morning, such were the nerves. Feeling good and confident now, Tiges by 4 goals - Shed gets the Normie

Just saw on the news Dan's gestapo militia have completely locked down Swan St, in case any of us dare to celebrate a Premiership.
They are threatening $5K fines for anyone caught there after the match.
There goes my idea...
