defintly has some AFL quality traits , however lacks a huge must in intensity, Jury is in for me now, time to move him on

i was extermely concerned when he got selected, and my worst fears became reality, when he put in another insipid performamce. our forward line becaome dysfunctional, and he was a liabilty. He's done amazingly well to make it this far in his career, and clearly has great athletic traits, but in my opinion he's a delist, just doesn't play the richmond way

I'm a Mabs fan but there is no way you could have picked him after the Adelaide game. Let alone when the pressure is cranked up for finals. Just had no presence about him. Hopefully he learns alot from tonight and can push ahead again next year
At Port Melb.

Terrible up forward. Terrible in the ruck.
He kept jumping too early for ball up.

He doesn't like the body contact in the ruck. His 2 tactics are jump early or don't jump. Both to avoid contact. I don't blame him, but it means he is compromised and no good to you when the fur is flying. Up forward he doesn't bring the ball to ground. He only goes for it when he can get a free run at it, hence why he plays from behind so much. Good defenders figure him out quick and take the body which completely neutralises him. He can't help the other forwards and doesn't demand the attention of the 3rd man. Because he only goes for marks he thinks he can get to, and he doesn't have sticky hands, he doesn't bring the ball to ground to the advantage of our crumbers. That's Lose-Lose-Lose by my count. Tough on the kid, but we needed someone who impacted the contest tonight. That wasn't Mabs. This is all stuff the coaches know, so big questions for them.

Swing him to a wing, push Balta up forward and drop Pickett onto Charlie?

Won the Ray Boyanich award tonight for most impressive final fail. Should have played his last game for Richmond tonight. Dud delist

What? Why?

Just thinking about what Hardwick could have done to fix it. Chol no good up forward but can be creative when he is free to move, so push him up the ground. Balta is a competitor and big enough to give the defenders trouble. All we needed was someone who would bring the ball to ground. The game was getting away from us, so try something? Pickett might have been able to get a handle on Charlie. Just spit-balling really.

Chol doesnt want to ruck and wants to be number 1 forward.

Sorry mate, you have alot more to learn before you'll ever be considered number 1 forward again.

Need to compete 100% of the time, always at least bring the ball to ground, actually lead to the ball carrier.

His only saving grace is he can kick straight for goal. But that does not make you elite forward.

Mabior is one we encourage more than challenge.

I like him better than Vickery or Griffens. Not to say he's better than them.

It's good that he has confidence, most footballers are doomed without it. But when opportunity knocks like a perfect kick 20m out, you've gotta take it. Even more important when you average four kicks a game and end up with one kick in this one.

I'm disappointed for him. He clearly has potential but tonight was very expensive experience.

Like others, I was nervous when I saw the team sheet. As a tall, Chol never looked like bringing the ball to ground.

In 2017, Dimma didn’t play a small forward line until he was forced to. He even gifted several games to Todd Elton in the Vickery role, such is his belief in these type of players.

Meanwhile, the landing zone of a kick has a a variability radius in metres. An extra 10cm in height should be worth almost nothing when the player + ball’s positioning is measured in metres.

Delisted for me had long enough on list rather a player from wafl, vfl or sanfl maybe not as talented but 100% intensity.

We seem to have forgotten a lesson from our 2017 campaign. Don’t put maintaining structure above having 22 players ready, willing and able to compete. Since the GCS game it’s been clear that when Chol plays we go in one short.
