Goodbye Mabior Chol

To play Mabior's Advocado,

maybe, just maybe, he didn't handle the Full Forward role?

He looked all at sea, out of his depth, largely hopeless.

maybe we give him one more chance with Lynchy back and he plays a 3rd tall and backup ruck?

Im clutching at straws, I know,

But the thought of 1 ruckman terrifies me, like it always did.

you're only 1 injury away from disaster

we may get a way with it against Brisbane, but Port would bully us I reckon

If worst came to worst I'd back Balta to play ruck and we'd just sort out the defence.

He doesn't like the wet. Unfortunately for Mabs, no gorgeous, dry, September afternoons at the G this year.

I'm with you on the one ruck, though.

yeah Im very nervous going in with 1 ruckman.

with Dave back, Noah looked a bit superfluous.

maybe, just maybe, he does swing into the role?

would be too audacious I think

I dunno.
Yeah Ezy thought the same.
Hardly noticed Balta.

Think the MC will be thinking long and hard these 2 weeks on what they do.

Say Nank goes down in a final - You can play Noah as basically a ruck rover because Dave can cover his role. In 2017 we really had no option. Only one ruck, one tall forward and a settled defence.

When Mabs has played forward he’s been third banana, which can be a tough gig. Maybe some of the perceived lack of effort is when he doesn’t want to get in the way of the big dogs. Now he’ll have to play as one of those big dogs, this week at least. Funny thing, playing in others’ shadows. I wonder whether part of Butters’ improvement this year comes from how he sees himself - and how others see him - within his new team. He doesn’t have a Dusty to defer to so he sets himself to occupy the best space two kicks out, then he takes off full of premiership cache and new found profile. Sometimes it can really help to know you’re the man.

yeah nah

Really dissapointing .

i think I’d go with Nank, with Lynch taking some of the work in the forward 50 and have Balta do the odd centre bounce an a little work down back

Could have cemented a spot in a grand final and put the Tiger faithful at ease tonight.

Did neither.

Poor old Mabs does the little man things better than he does the big man things, and you can’t get away with that unless you’re Buddy. Three deep all night, and just no clue as to how to impact an aerial contest. Even when he was camped in front he instinctively snuck to the back by the time the ball arrived.
Miller time?

Been thinking about who plays second ruck if Mabs gets dropped, it'd be a big call, but Miller couldn't do any worse.
