Goodbye Mabior Chol

Not as good last night but he still seemed to threaten to make something happen. His follow up work is first class. Ball just seems to pop back up to him.

Unbelievable how he can get the ball. You think he is totally beaten and somehow extends his Gadget arms gets the ball (after a few fumbles) then takes off at speed

Seemed intimidated by the huge Brisbane unit and contributed very little. (Soldo lowered his colours also.)

Reckon Hardwick likes having him in the side because he can be thrown around and is a difficult match-up; you never know where he is going to bob up. Disappointments like last night come with the territory of playing him. Think CCJ is injured so he is probably safe for another week.

Agree with this, Dimma is happy to take the good and the bad of Mabs imo.

Only issue is if Nankervis is fit, what is the ruck combination. I think Soldo may rue his performance from last night.

Its Nank / Chol every time.

Soldo cannot do what Chol can up forward.

All accurate. Yes, a little disappointing last night but was it a bit of fatigue which people interpret as lazy, laconic? He is just a naturally graceful, languid mover but no-one quite knows what he is going to do, because even he barely knows what he is capable of, yet.
Imagine if he hadn't have missed that great solo effort on goal (was it Q2)? Even the commentators were about to go off.
I agree with most of the criticism but he still did some quality things, and team things. We have to remember he is still a very young guy in terms of games at AFL level. And talls take longer to mature and reach their peak anyway.

So much upside. I would definitely keep playing him but rest Soldo and bring Nank in against Poort if he's fit to go.

Agree regarding the comment about forward craft.

Just think Soldo’s tap work is better than Nankervis’.
Not enough for mine. Nankervis is far more effective around the ground, gives greater presence around the contest and can bloody mark the ball.

Nank will always get involved and hurt the opposition mids if nothing else. Soldo's tap work is good and he's taller which helps against the monsters, but when he's down on form it's obvious.

I tend to favour Chank, but there's a little bit of horses for courses.

Im a tad surprised by those jumping off the Chol bandwagon. He is an X factor and I still think he did some nice things last night. Firmly stays in for mine.
Each to their own but I don't see it in Mabs. I think he's too easily pushed out of the contest (marking, hard ball etc.) and has very limited footy IQ. Does the odd thing that captures the eye but don't see him a long term option.

I think that might be fudd, Elmer, but we'll see. :D

I still see him as going either way to be honest. Does some great things but then does nothing for most of the game.

I think Mabs will continue to get better.....I reckon he could be a star.

This was "touched on" near the end of the gameday thread.

Richmond quizzed on bizarre change room antics after footage emerges on social media

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick cut his weekly press conference short on Friday after being hit with accusations of alleged sexual assault among his players.

It was alleged by veteran reporter Hugh Riminton that Tiger defenders Nick Vlastuin and Jayden Short were involved in the incidents involving teammate Mabior Chol.

Two incidents were allegedly caught on camera in the change rooms, after last week’s win over Brisbane and the previous clash with the Western Bulldogs.

It showed the Tigers standing in a circle singing the club song after a victory.

The vision is being circulated on social media, allegedly showing Vlastuin grabbing at Chol’s backside.

It was alleged the footage also shows Vlastuin grabbing at Chol’s genitals three times.

Short allegedly was filmed grabbing at Chol’s genitals after the game against the Western Bulldogs the following week.

Hardwick didn’t answer any of the allegations, and a club spokesperson entered the press conference, being done via Zoom, to say the coach and the club had “no knowledge” of the incident.

The club and the AFL have been asked for comment.

If this is indeed some sort of in-joke about Chol being an "anti-Nahas", it could be used to damage the club by PC Nazis.

Not a huge deal but it’s certainly not a good look by the lads being broadcast on TV. Pretty silly. I’m sure we won’t be seeing those hijinks again soon.
