Golf

Warm soapy water for the blade
Brasso for the shafts
Light sandpaper on the grips if they're cord

Dirty dog, well done for taking the game up, all the best.
I used to play a fair bit years ago, gave it away for 5 years and have only got back into a few months ago. The only tip i can give you about clubs is that don't be to concerned about the brand of clubs, get a set that you are comfortable with and feels good in your hands, thats all that matters. Try and stay away from a blade like iron when starting, it will just frustrate the :-X out of you as they are not very forgiving.

If you are after a decent golf bag, check ebay out. If not send me a PM as i know a few people around the traps that might be able to help you out.

Use an old toothbrush on the clubface and warm soapy water as Michael suggested, will keep them looking brand new.

Good luck and don't get to technical with your swing, it will only do your head in.......

Solid advise.

I'd add a lesson or 2 from an experienced pro early on can help no end.

Not to sure how many Punt Road Enders have tuned into the first 2 days of the Australian Open but from what Ive seen so far, it is by far the worst coverage of golf i have ever seen. Its not just the commentators or the camera angles, its the whole bloody coverage.

The course itself looks terrible to with the changes they have made to the course, I caddied in the Greg Norman tourny years back and the changes since then look horrendous.

Is there anyone out there that agrees or am i just having a bad couple of days???

Good to see Tiger may end could end his dought & win the World Championship Challenge tournament. He's leading by 4 shots after the 3rd round.

I've seen worse. A (pretty attractive) associate member at Royal Canberra had 138 for 9 holes once when they made the social ladies Tuesday arvo group play stroke for whatever reason. Actually, I remember the reason because I did it. For years they'd play stableford and the whole group (all quite young and nice, for RC anyway) would be lucky to aggregate 10 points. I just wanted to see what they'd shoot if they had to finish every hole and how long that might take. Good times.

Spoke a little to soon mb, going by what I heard from a couple of good mates of mine that had a bit to do with Tiger on his last visit here he doesn't deserve to win another tourny, *smile* of the highest order.
Disco, worst round I have ever seen was a guy off a handicap of 36 chipped in on the last hole in our local midweek comp to have 17 down playing par....

How bad is Aussie golf going if Peter Senior Citzen can win a tourney!

Well done to Peter Senior on a great and well deserved win....

Don't want to take anything away from him but alot of the pro's use this tourny as an end of season *smile* up. Been up there a few times and was only up there for a golf trip 3 weeks ago and i rate the course as one of the best i have played in QLD, its not a hard course if you keep it on the fairway and if the pro's weren't so hungover, 20 under should be the winning score.
