Golf

Would depend on where the ball was placed on each green with an uphill or downhill roll, but our general consensus was most amateurs would likely average 4 putts a green.

3s and 5s would cancel out and we wouldn't get far enough under par to win.
Putting is my strength......................unfortunately It's my length too.

I agree, most amateurs would struggle big time on those greens.

During the practice rounds the pro’s play like normal from tee to green, then spend at least 10 mins on each green chipping and putting to the different pin positions they will encounter throughout the tournament.

Before and after the practice rounds the caddies go out by themselves and check the breaks to all pin positions from all angles from about 10 feet. They record all their findings in their yardage books. It’s not surprising how many putts the pro’s make considering the amount of preparation that is put in to it.

Moops. Have you played PK North Course ? I get a sense the gradients on the fairways and big breaking swings and slopes on the greens are something akin to it ? eg the 1st, 2nd holes on the North course ?

Both North and South courses have some WILD greens.

No I haven’t Red, sounds like I need to though.

Not many courses up here in Brisbane have overly difficult greens. Brookwater probably the toughest, but they’re a long way from unplayable.

Videos on each hole by the architect.

Scheffler just 4 putted 9.

J Day just birdied 13 to go to 9 under, 3 behind Koepka.

Day made a mess of his closing holes. Awful 3rd into 15 and a couple of 3 putts. He was very well placed leading up to that.

I wanted to smash my TV and laptop screens watching Day before. All he had to do was get to the 18th at -9, and four holes later, just sad man

Haha good old Rory has had a shocker, easily missing the cut.

Just need a LIV golfer to win now to send him into meltdown mode.

Going to be interesting if that amateur Sam Bennett at -8 can stay there or better it over the weekend.

Record score for an amateur is a 7 under 281, Charles Coe in 1961. He finished T2nd and one stroke shy of Gary Player. Ken Venturi around 1956 also tied for second as an amateur.

That Masters app is one of the best sports apps going. Score notifications come through for your selected favourites, go straight to the app and watch what you miss or before they show it on the coverage especially for the LIV players

Love Brookwater Mopsy , haven’t played it for years now , houses were starting to pop up all around the course last time I was there.

Augusta’s greens have a few buried elephant greens a bit like the old , however it’s slopes are mainly just use of the natural terrain , that slope that runs on 9 and 10 is dramatic ,as they say TV dosent do it justice .

That would be his scorecard/ course info holder , tipping his taking notes each time his watched the Masters , now has notes the size of War & Peace :))
Yeah I just thought there'd be a better place to put most of that info bar the scorecard in your back pocket, maybe keep the golfing bible in the caddies pocket!!

But then after seeing Crowe's book, I noticed Speith and a couple of others have got nice sized ones, looks just a tiny bit thinner :))

I believe Speith has asked for a Club car golf cart fitted out with his library of notes to follow him around , he’s caddie has also asked if it could carry some spare ear muffs
