Golf

Its a tight first round. Anything could happen in the battle for the Red Jacket.

Tenacious off to a good start thanks to Smith and Im. Donny Fraser and Ankle Cabrera ......a solid team effort. Grand Duke Spook...ditto. Scotty got a case of the yips on the quick Drofgusta greens. That’s no good.

&&^%$ Molinari !!!!

Check your scores. Any errors ....submit to the Drofgusta Rules Committee and they will review.

Thursday field average73.83007476 (+2)equals +4
Bubba's +1, stop trying to stooge me.

Koepka 2 under through 9, shoots 5 over on the back nine, Kanaya 1 under through 9 and shoots 4 over for the back nine:confused:

Nothing more needs to be said Mr B.

And then after nearly 2 years out of the game the great man, in the worst of the conditions goes out and shoots 1 under.
Where's Tiger's runner ups ? Not only is he 3 short in wins, but can he top 19 runner ups ? Maybe not.....maybe a MASSIVE 13 behind !

Reckon he would have been leading the field if he'd played.
One of my mates listens to all these golf podcasts that these blokes who are highly tuned into the Tour do. Forget the name of the show.

Anyway, these blokes reckon Casey is one of the most unpopular players on Tour. Fake personality for the cameras and crowd they reckon. Very nasty guy behind the scenes they reckon. Was a bit surprised, but anyway bit of goss.

Koepka chopped it big time on the back 9.

What about Rahm. Dunno if I’ve ever seen anyone playing their 3rd shot on 11 from the 12th tee before !

Koepka better not miss the cut, I don't like the prick. I only picked him because he plays well at Augusta, and was starting to show a bit of form.

What do you think of the changes to the course?

I'm not happy that they've lengthened 15, with the wind today most players were laying up. I loved the 2nd shot into there.

I don't know why they lengthened 11 and changed the green either, it was a tough enough hole as it was.

I like the change to 15, it had become too short.

They were bombing drives and hitting 8 irons in previously.

Its only been lengthened by 20 yards, not that much really.

And don’t forget the course was softened up by all the rain so no real run off the tee.

It was a test on Thursday, let’s wait and see what transpires once the course dries out a bit.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s golfers - pros or otherwise - who whine about a bad shot or putt like it wasn’t their fault. And there’s three guys out there who do it regularly.

“Whaaat ? How did the ball break like that ?”
“I hit that perfectly but look what the wind did !!”

Rahm, Spieth and De Chambeau. They never hit a bad putt or shot.

It’s always this incredulous, whiney, bad sport “But how did the ball DO that ???”

I take full responsibility for picking Poulter, I should have checked he was actually playing not assumed he was given he was listed, but feel a little ripped off. Just wanted to let the Drofgusta Rules Committee know that they need to look at the muggle who did the final field, how many other never-starters did he include other than Pouter & English?

Go Tiger, surely he can't continue? Kudos to Tman having the balls to pick him.

Yeh Spieth is a very verbal player!!

Yeah, fair points.

Water at the front and slippery chip if you go over the back. There's a lot of slope on the green, was there all that many eagles?

I’ve heard that he’s not a bad guy off the course, but on the course he drives everyone crazy with his endless jibber about every shot that he plays.

Rahm and De Chambeau come off as dcks both on and off the course.

Seriously, on the coverage today I must have heard 5 times between the three of them how they’d hit a perfect shot but were bewildered at the outcome eg Spieth on 15 when he reckoned he’d hit his second shot perfectly only for it to go wide right and luckily, just avoid the water. Shut up mate. If you’d have hit it “perfectly” it’d be 5 feet from the pin and not 30 yards wide and 20 yards short.

Spieth is a shocker, have gone right off him the last couple of years.

I'm hoping De Chambeau goes the way of Duval.

Rahm has gone off the boil, especially his putting.

Yeh, heard Rahm whingeing about the wind on 12. He pulled it. When you pull it it goes longer.

He constantly complains about conditions affecting his shots.

Spieth seemingly can't help himself, wonder he hasn't employed a sports physc to try and calm mimself a bit.

Have you seen Rahm after he misses a putt (which is a lot lately) ? Arms go out and up in the air, looks back at his caddy, “ How did the green do that ???”

Sooo unlucky.
