Call it whatever you like, but bloody hell I have never experienced the euphoria of a win like that. It was almost like being at a séance, something unworldly, where all the evil footy spirits were cremated and the tigers were reborn. Such a wave of emotion of excitement (first 20 minutes), stress (next 100 minutes), and sustained ejaculation (last 36 hours).
For the numerous cuddles with Col. Kutz and James in our row, I love you. To the other tigers in the rows in front and behind receiving high fives, I love you all to. And to the tiger army all around us, you were awesome.
The urinals at 3 quarter time are as good a barometer as any, and it was tense. Everyone I am sure thought we could do it, but had trouble releasing at the stand let along opening one's mouth. I thought about screaming go tigers, but the place was so fragile I thought the stands might fall down.
Felt like I was part of the team after the game when they came to us down behind the goals. Seeing their faces of joy replicating those of the fans was awesome.
Very special weekend, and after a few hours sleep, 3 hours flying home, and then another 3 hours driving, I am stuffed and have no voice. I have to give a few hours of presentations to our Board committees today and I can barely speak.
And I had an epiphany on the way home. 30 years of depression feels like it was washed away on Saturday. I reckon the reminiscing of our "glorious past" should stop, it only provides a sense of entitlement that drives no accountability. Winning 9 games in a row after being equal last is called accountability, and I reckon this group of players has character. The club should now live in the present, drive itself to the highest standards, and create a new history starting in 2014.
Go tiges.

Fantastic pick up. Kid can play defence and also be that big bodied midfielder as he has amazing endurance.
Well dont Tiges.

Tony Braxton-Hicks said:I liked it when [Hardwick] said we missed Edwards against the Bulldogs, and then in the next breath said that Titch had never missed a game while he had been coaching the Tigers.
Did he just inadvertently admit that he didn't turn up to coach that day?

It should not count as a tackle if you stand behind a player in a clearance, wrap your arms around his stomach when the ball gets tapped to him, you place the side of your head in the middle of his back and squeeze as the player just lifts his arm and handballs the ball away for a clean clearance. That is not a tackle, it is a cuddle.

Quote " Called "Butcher Haig" for the two million British casualties under his command, he became the model of class-based incompetent commanders unable to grasp modern tactics and technology." If it wasn't for Aussie Lieutenant General Monash coming up with revolutionary new tactics the result may have been a lot worse.
Hardwick too has been unable to adjust to the changes in modern football and our club is suffering as a result.
We can do as the British did and continue to do more of the same or replace him with a coach who is able to adapt to the changing tactics of our game.
For two seasons Hardwick has had the opportunity to bring in an assistant game day coach with experience and creativity but has chosen to bring in inexperienced coaches.
I use this analogy to make the point that either Hardwick must be willing to change and adapt or the Richmond Football Club must move him on. Otherwise we may squander any chance the current football playing group has of having a tilt at a premiership.
