GOAT Day thread - TIGERS Vs wees & poos hawkers

Our middle core of snr players aren't stepping up. Quite a few of them are in 2nd gear atm.
Middle core like Baker and Bolton??
Baker is part of the reason we don't have good efficiency with our disposal and he looks like a bloke that has 'a option'. He isn't hungry like in 2019 or 2020. He is either getting 700k from us *which I wouldn't give
Or 850k from Freo.
Bolton got the worse hit in the head you could possibly get. I will give him time.
Rioli is trying
Vaulstin is trying
Broad is trying
Its Sony Graham Short Mansell Cumberland Samson Dow That aren't good enough

Now I love Norf as much as anyone and never want to stick the boots into that pathetic little club they are , however just to magnify how great of achievement it was from the 92k Tiger faithful that turned up to the G , Norf had 20k at the great Boomers final game

Have to disagree with Baker overall. For the amount of contested ball, overall this year he has been very good. Yesterday's game was one of his worst for the year. The problem is I don't think he's a true midfielder and his best value is back or forward. I'm thinking, hoping, he will be back to his more traditional role once Hopper is back, or God forbid, coach starts taking McAuliffe's abilities more seriously.

Sat at the front of the top deck of the Ponsford which is not where I usually watch games. A couple of things I noticed.

1. We stood still. There was just no leading, anywhere on the ground. And we seemed to be stuck in a zone defense that motionless just appeared like witches hats to the Hawthorn players who were running all around us. If that's the game plan, we need a new one.

2. Has anyone picked up on Hawthorn's interchanges? At the start of the 4th I noticed that the display above the bench showed us having 17 left and them having none. I didn't notice them making changes in the 4th, but my eyes were a bit stuck on the car crash that was our performance so maybe they did and I didn't see it. Checked the stats when I got home though and it said that they'd made 101 out of an allowed 75 interchanges. Surely that's wrong. If it's not, it doesn't excuse our performance and it certainly explains why they looked like they were running on top of the ground while we were knee deep in mud. What's the penalty for that if the stats are correct?

3. Dusty can't blame his teammates for that performance. He was as bad as the rest of them.

#2 couldn't be right. Stewards would pick up on it during the game and penalise.

I thought he was non-commital

It actually felt like his farewell game. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes to Bali and doesn't come back
Yeah, thought Dusty said “we’ll see” when Jack asked if we would see him in two weeks.

I saw something about that elsewhere. Given the way the AFL run things they'll probably get a scolding from the AFL and a fine. I hope it's a big one.

Felt like a farewell from the great man. Maybe just showing that bit of extra gratitude to the faithful that turned up and have given him so much love over the journey. Time will tell...

I haven't read this whole thread so unsure if already discussed, but mid way through the 1st a hawks player handballs from about 15m out to concede a behind. Looked deliberate from my perspective and too far out, particularly thinking back to Broad getting done for it earlier this year. Have I got something wrong here?
Yeah I think I yelled out “broad says thank you very much umpires”. WE GET UMPIRED DIFFERENTLY.

Did you see the wave he did to the Richmond crowd in the last quarter? I can't recall such a smarmy *smile* of a player.
Yeah there is another one of those players who has a head made for punching but I can’t remember his name. A blond guy that plays for brissie.

Bubba J Lol GIF by Jeff Dunham

The AFL have reviewed 15m handball under no pressure and given decision of behind (y)

I can't recall the exact words, but he was very positive that he would be playing the game after the bye.

He said "we'll freshen up after the bye and see how we go". I took the latter to mean see if we can beat them.

The other thing I got out of his interview is I can't ever imagine him in another club's colours. He clearly loves the club and the support. Could be wrong but I think he either goes around again in yellow and black or gives it away.

Got the same. As I said, I think he'll retire at the end of this season, but I'm very confident he won't do a Luke Hodge and wind up elsewhere.

This game felt like the hird and sheedy farewell game in 2007 . It was the last game hird played in Melbourne and 88k turned up to say goodbye

Richmond had 92k turn up to respect dusty and he has not even retired yet

Proud to be a tiger this morning , too bad out players did not turn up

Why would Dusty retire now? He's the sort who would retire on 299 if he felt like he no longer wanted to play. I expect he will play to the end of the season and then make a decision on next year. Until then expect another 1000 silly media articles based on unfounded rumours.

The ducking and receiving a free is rife in the game. One day a player will duck and get concussion, then we will see the full impact of rewarding ducking.

It really isn't that hard, if they put their head in the way of a tackle they should be the one conceding a free kick.

As long as the umps continue to reward this behaviour it will keep happening.

DS
Yeh, it was extremely annoying. Watson is a cheat. Umpires are morons, despite the AFL changing the rules and noting it they continue to reward the Selwood shruggers. Drives me spare.

And that deliberate rushed behind? He missed the *smile* target by about 4m, the Hawks player in the goal square had no idea the ball was coming his way. An easy decision. AAlmost guarantee if we had of sone it we would have been penalised.

There was a free against Dusty in the middle that was ridiculous. No prior, tried to kick it, tackled and missed it, penalised. The same thing happened in Hawks forward line not 5 minutes later, play on. Get *smile* you midget twerps.

This was really noticeable. Stagnant.
