What are Gold Coast likely to get in return? Now that Bowes has chosen the Pussies
Will pussies use pick 7 to GWS for hopper?

Acres was only worth a 3rd rounder ….unbelievableIs it just me,
Or is the player trade market a bit weird?
Blake Acres - held down wing all year in a good side, good numbers,
I can definitely see how people would see this as a bet each way but I reckon Tom Mitchell is the equal of Taranto when stationed in the middle, I firmly believe they will offer up similar performance. I don't rate Taranto as an elite resting forward, maybe he gets there but more likely to be a solid citizen type. He's probably comparable to Lambert, that as a like for like trade is reasonable. The only catch is Lambert went for a rookie pick & Taranto two top 20 selections.
Would I settle for Taranto & Bowes? Yes, again if we can walk away with Jefferson then it's a big win, one key forward in the bag & next year's first safe & sound. If Hopper goes for pick 31 (in addition to next year's first) then it's sayonara Lemmey, probably no shot at Knobel & we'll be scrounging around for some decent tall timber.
The sooner we get the spine sorter the better, the flag top ups can still be facilitated, albeit with a narrower window given the bargains are comparable in age to our existing core.
If there's one thing I'm adamant about it's not selling the farm for inside mids. One of Taranto or Hopper is ok, two seems a bit of overkill & looks on the surface like an all or nothing play.
But Geelong are the tight asss club. Now that Bowes has chosen the Pussies

There was one bad number though. His salary. Only on $180k supposedly and low balling Freo were miles off No Cap-ton's number and hence why they could only attain a 3rd rounder. Is it just me,

Bully, I acknowledge that Mitchell is good at getting his hands on the ball but he needs to have quality outside mids to give it too. Taranto is physically a bigger player and can kick a goal. Mitchell needs to be inside 30 metres to make the distance if having a shot. His metres gained is just about negative as he scuttles sideways and backwards rather than going forward. Think there is a good reason that Sydney let him go and that Hawthorn are receptive to a trade.

Presumably it’s not so much what they gain - but what they maintain - as in the salary cap cash to keep a current player or two that might otherwise have shot through as well. What are Gold Coast likely to get in return?
Not just a survivor. The bloke's a hero. You can't stand a Bali bombing survivor who recovered from 2nd degree burns to 50% of his body and who almost died during surgery
I was at that game at the then Telstra Dome, i was gutted with the loss but one of the greatest comeback football stories of all time.
Great to see him still involved in footy and doing the best job for his club, (even if it may again be at our expense).
is it? Jones was their go to man in the back line, took on their best. their backline is still questionable, the reason their young star runs from the back to forward, providing their that additional run and carry. if you stop that, their defence suffers.Blues basically swapped Jones (who didn't even play for them last year) for Acres. As much as I hate to say it but thats a big win for the Blues.
How is a stat being overstated? These are Taranto's career numbers versus Mitchell's worst year (2022), the metres gained for Taranto is being overstated.
What a surprise!!!! AFL changes trade rules and Geesook are the big winners. Stuff me the blatant corruption is reaching new levelsGoes to show you what a mockery the afl is rewarding the sun's with a priority picks because of poor management and stupidity Bowes typical example.
Is he about to peak or is this the plateau for performance? That's my concern, whilst guys like Miller have taken it to the next level around the same age most mids display their complete trick bag by the age of 23. If we are paying 12 & 19 for 25 disposals at 60% efficiency with the majority of those possessions being uncontested then we are paying overs. If Taranto can become a 25 goal midfielder then we get a favourable return on investment. That's the benchmark but there's still plenty of uncertainty from my perspective. How is a stat being overstated?
You get two years of Mitchell at this level, in fact he may have peaked. Taranto entering peak years.
Yep good pick up for the Blues.Blues basically swapped Jones (who didn't even play for them last year) for Acres. As much as I hate to say it but thats a big win for the Blues.
