Game Day vs Crows

Yep. Just don't get it. Even mid season draft we went for another skinny flanker who is unavailable for 8 weeks.

Name the top-level ruckmen you would have drafted with our picks in the last 6 or so years. Even with 20/20 hindsight. The reality is you could draft 20 rucks with picks around 10 and convert none. Who in their right mind would blow a mid-season draft pick on a ruck? What would you get for it?

realistically Rance and Jack are our 2 biggest ommisions.
one is on verge of retirement and the other might just pack it up at years end.
not sure we have set up our future to go forward without these 2 great players.
You're right, what was the club thinking not recruiting another Rance and Jack. We could have gone and poached the best forward in the comp, and our backline, who do we have apart from Vlastuin, Grimes, Astbury and a few young talents! Nothing at all.
Question, does it get draining pretending you're a supporter when you're really just a sniping fichwit?

This.

Don’t think any other club drafted a ruck the other week. Maybe we could’ve tried a Stephenson type and hoped to strike it lucky, but the way Hardwick spoke about Pickett suggests the club view him as a sure thing.

Best available.

McIntosh is crap. always has been. he flaps his arms as he wants to take off.
we know why no WA team recruited him

I don't mind Jenkins. Thought he played well.

Was very complimentary of Richmond last year.

He will end up with a media career but he’s a key reason Adelaide are not successful. Simply a flat track bully as a footballer.

Good sense of humour off the field.

if you can put 2 sentences together and have a full set of teeth your a walk up start for a media gig in Adelaide.

Chol looked ok, worth persisting with for a few games, gives us more around the ground than Soldo.

The effort tonight was good, much better than the game against North where we could have won, if we turned up.

A few players must now be under the pump:

Into the seconds for a while: Higgins, Butler.

Looking like they will never make it: Menadue.

For the future: Naish.

Big questions: Garthwaite, Graham.

Not sure what game plan some around here are proposing we replace our current game plan with - any ideas or just criticise Hardwick and the game plan that got us a flag? How do you propose we implement a new game plan, with half the side out I think the issue is elsewhere. More than willing to say we need to improve our disposal skills, too many turnovers from mistakes, even worse when we hit Geelong who are far better than Adelaide.

Graham? One of our best 3, with 23 touches and 11 tackles. Miles ahead of Caddy who moved like lava last night.

listening to Pyke and the Crows players last night you'd think they'd won the ultimate prize. we have truly scarred them and with a bit more composure could've won that with how many 2nds playing?
commentators were gushing as well. James Brayshaw is a fool of the highest order.

Did you note how many mistakes he made? He makes so many tackles because he sits on opponents at contests and they usually get the ball. How many are effective at killing a contest or preventing a takeaway?

Doesn't make our best 22 if everyone is available IMO.

Moral victory last night. Given all our outs we had no business being within a kick or two of Adelaide on their home deck in the last quarter,. Adelaide should feel very disappointed that they were nearly outclassed by a VFL side plus a few stars.
In fact - if Rioli hadn't fumbled that mark late in the last quarter we could have been only a goal or so down...Crows might've tightened up and we could have had a different result. When you also consider quite a few of our players had shockers it's even more remarkable we were so close.

fumbles cost us the game IMO.

Rioli, Higlet, Butler, Ellis, Graham all guilty.

Higlet looked like he was handling a greasy pig.

Dion should be slotting those goal snaps like shelling peas too. he's a rover FFS.

Adelaide are ordinary. The Suns and St.Kilda will push the 22 we have on the park at the moment.

Cotchy, Sheds and Lambert in for Menadue, Butler and Higlet will make us 6 goals better,

but that still has us struggling to kick 100.

very worrying signs.

Positives out of last night for me

1. Lynchy showed his imposing best. Him and Jack firing together will be Uber-potent and make us 8 goals better.

2. Naishy showed some real class and poise in the first half. Will become best 22 in time.

3. Mabs game - great to see some athleticism and X factor.

4. Stackman just gets better and better. Will replace Cotchy in the middle, in the manner that Jack Reiwoldt eased the pain of Richo's retirement.

5. No injury.

6. we wobbled to the bye with more wins than losses, which was my aspiration.
