Game Day vs Crows

its a shame Pickett wasn't ready to go. he'd be making a difference.

I was asked by someone online whether it was wise to pick up a player with an injury given we have so many injuries.
Marlion may be a great player for us when he eventually returns (or not) but it's a fair question given our massive number of injuries right now.

I guess it's a question of who outside AFL could have stepped in and played a meaningful role? Perhaps they believed there was no one else.

And not every player we pick up will be a Sydney - there will be a bust or two.

I won’t put any weight in Pickett being our saviour till we seem him actually make the team and play.

We mightve had 10 players missing.
But The crows had 1(kelly Talia and Liptak all injured) on the bench in the last qtr and again we got slapped.
Our last qtrs are a huge concern

Didn't he retire 20 years ago? :hihi

If he was right he’d have gone earlier. The club is also looking longer term than just this year. We went with best available.

Wise. Cannot believe posters raving about the abilities and impact of this guy before he has even set foot on the oval for an AFL game. Nothing to prove he will make it at all yet. (All hope and desperation)

Yeah that's obviously the direction we took. He's still a long shot to have an impact though. There's no guarantees at all.
I just think it's a fair question to ask given our extremely long injury list.
Hopefully Marlion works out. Time will tell.

We found out plenty about ourselves on Friday night.

Our leaders, stood up. Martin, lead from the front and is getting into beast mode 17 again. Prestia toiled away was everything but lacked polish infront of goals. Lynch was super, committed jumped at everything and was invested all game. Nicky V gets a pass for getting on the park, was ordinary but has had his best year so he gets away with one. Our youngsters, Chol & Naish all showed glimpse. Garth tried but is 10kgs of par. Stack did his normal Stack thing and looked like he was playing game 123. Balta looked low on energy and needs the break more than anyone. Where we got cooked was out middle tier. We needed Ellis, Castanga, Caddy, McIntosh, Butler, Rioli to stand up and contribute like players 5-10 not 12-17 like they normally are and can just get involved here and there. Two of this group had to be firing and stand up. None did, not even a little bit.
