GAME DAY Tiges v Suns

A long bow to blame the establishment of the women's side (which every other club has done too)
Not blaming - just mentioned that the millions spent to establish a below par league could have been better spent by all clubs on their men’s sides.

And I make no apologies for saying that. I can hear the howls already but I’m not interested in social or political correctness.

Now back to the footy.

Because you're implying we have 2 only young players when we are fielding more inexperienced players than you listed. Youngsters vs Career infancy is essentially the same thing.
Ok. I don't agree. Inexperienced doesn't necessarily equal being young. If you're inexperienced and 22/23/24yo, there's usually a reason. I think our balance of inexperienced youngsters vs inexperienced older players is poor. Granted winning premierships has contributed to this. Anyway, not sure what this discussion is leading to, we're too old, we have to play the inexperienced now and have to put up with finishing down the ladder the next few years. IMO of course.

The loss of some good coaches over the last three seasons or so have hurt us bad as their replacements are struggling
Doesn’t help that the coach is on top $ instead of realising last year what needed to be done and sacrificed his pay $ to bring in better people, starting with a better conditioning/fitness staff and not a charity to coaches who got the sack.

I feel for those coaches but we should have looked newer, fresher faces with a rejuvenated outlook on footy post 2020.

It’s done now.

Ravaged by injuries. Selections that have left many scratching their heads. Stars whose lights are going out very quickly and a senior coach whose message is not working. While the club has syphoned off a lot of money to establish a woman’s side (never a fan); money that could be spent elsewhere = mediocrity.

Ball movement shakey. Dinky kicks all over the park and cut off at will. No penetration and little clean movement and trapping of the ball. I thought the defense was our best line and kept GC honest.

What staggered me the most was the ease in which GC moved the ball around the park with small kicks. It started in the 1st minute and continued throughout the game.

That’s on the coach. See a problem. Address the problem ‍♂️

Get some genuine urgency into training with the same group and roll them out next week.

Pisses me off seeing Taz and Hop with their heads down in the rooms after the game. It's like walking into a sh!t job.

Get Chimp to 300 and then tell all players to opt out if they want. I, we just want enthusiastic skilful players in the team.

IMO, get Pickett out and back to WA. Been useless since that silly debut 2019GF. Said it before, his efforts are good but too reckless.

seems simplistic, but imo we over-use the ball .. constantly .. and our basic skills don't back it up

For all the gains we have made in recent years we still implode only like Richmond can do.
Amazing.

Absolute WOKE rubbish. Money pit. As if women's football is ever going to be profitable or deliver high ratings. Lets be honest. Unfortunately we have to do it, doesn't mean it's right By all means it's great for the girls to play at a high level/youth participation, but shouldn't be syphoning the coffers of the clubs to appease vocal minorities. How many people will turn up to a game when they start charging enough to cover game/player cost. Family and their dogs!!!

Rubbish I can take the kids mistakes, but our senior blokes are the ones killing us all year.

Disagree. Our kids aren't good enough to cover the senior injuries. We were competitive in the early games before the injuries hit.

At least the girls put their head over the ball.

Yep they had the choice of Lollingwood and Geesook. They would be feeling pretty *smile* about their decision.

Pickett up forward was a disaster.
He was in the way.
Needs to be on a wing or in the guts.

The whole forward line was a disaster today. Its a long time since we've looked that unlikely to score a goal.

Main issue with today's game was the lack of desire to run both ways. Lost count how many times our players were walking back when we lost the ball. Shai probably the biggest culprit
