GAME DAY Tiges v Suns

The biggest concern is that the younger players are not developing and actually going backwards. Thats a sign we need an overhaul in the coaching ranks. Seems Dimma has surrounded himself once again with Yes men. No one questioning his calls. Same as pre 2017 before we made the call and cleaned the coaching dept

Ravaged by injuries. Selections that have left many scratching their heads. Stars whose lights are going out very quickly and a senior coach whose message is not working. While the club has syphoned off a lot of money to establish a woman’s side (never a fan); money that could be spent elsewhere = mediocrity.

Ball movement shakey. Dinky kicks all over the park and cut off at will. No penetration and little clean movement and trapping of the ball. I thought the defense was our best line and kept GC honest.

What staggered me the most was the ease in which GC moved the ball around the park with small kicks. It started in the 1st minute and continued throughout the game.

That’s on the coach. See a problem. Address the problem ‍♂️

Get some genuine urgency into training with the same group and roll them out next week.

The loss of some good coaches over the last three seasons or so have hurt us bad as their replacements are struggling
Without quality tactical assistants Hardwick is exposed as a tactical dwarf. ( think 2016 )

Good man manager but lousy tactician.

A long bow to blame the establishment of the women's side (which every other club has done too)

Tigers are crashing into irrelevance at twice the speed the Mighty Hawks side did.

Sobering.

We're due for an evolution in game plan I reckon. Teams are more prepared to stop the forward handball.

In 2019, only Collingwood looked ready for it, and even in 2020, most teams looked ready for it but they weren't effective at stopping it (since we were the only ones doing it, while everyone else controlled the ball).

Our next challenge is to get ahead of the curve once again.

Whatever magic they tapped into in 17 , it now feels like the opposite of that

This team gave us one of our great era's but unfortunately we thought we could be Geelong and have fallen off a cliff. There could be a lot if dark years ahead for this list. We don't get the same output as they do with the older players or pluck genuine guns like DeKoning and Holmes picked up with mid level picks on 2019/2020.

The kids drafted since Matt Clarke has been in charged just aren't that good as a group. Only Balta and Baker are genuine consistent AFL players. Several others have promise but aren't established players yet.

The team doesn't have the ability to run out games and skills are poor. The key forward hole is massive without Lynch. Jack has been a hall of farmer but he is old now and has no support.

I am not sure if Dimma wants to rebuild a genuine bottom four team again who may have traded the Harley Reid puck to GWS.

That's what I want to know. Diff would be they were all young and experienced players with no finals whereas now half the team are old and cooked and seen the top of the mountain 3 times.

What enabled us to get ahead of the curve was simply having 4 of the comps best players playing at their prime - Rance, Martin, Cotch and Riewoldt - in hindsight when they clicked we could have introduced just about any game plan and we would win more than we lose.

I can’t seeing us getting another 4 like that all firing at once and in their prime for a while.

Would Dusty be worth anything now in a trade? Can't see anyone giving away much - if anything

What has happened to our skills and disposal it's embarrassing the worse in the league by a mile signs we're there in preseason. We can't even do the basics right. We look slow , unfit and our system and game plan is all over the shop.Club last 3 years didn't invest in our football department dropped the ball we hear covid crap etc all excuses other clubs hired quality we didn't look our fitness and medical nothing short of a mess.

On top of that holding on senior blokes champions or not needed to go .Our kids take the rapt for there poor showing all year this year.

Can't imagine a bottom 4 finish was in the plans when we gave away first round draft picks to recruit the GWS midfield.

Maybe our recruiters should do their jobs and draft some actual midfielders as opposed to the glut of flankers we have on the list. Revolutionary concept I know.
