Our tackling is almost as bad as our kicking. Scumwood players just brush us aside or stand up in tackles and lay it off to a team mate. If we ever stick one it's usually a free for too high. Whearas the Scum nail our players in strong tackles and earn free kicks.

At the moment we are a poor kicking team and a poor tackling team.

Richmond seem unable to hit a target if you paid them but the Pies have no problem and are accurate so no excuses

It is skill level. Their players have it, ours don't.

The club needs to recruit players that are excellent kicks of the footy. We have too many butchers. The stand rule has made this even more important.

It is no coincidence that we have slid since the introduction of that rule. SHocking did his job very well.

The thing is, this Collingwood side is hardly full of world beaters. A lot of workmanlike hacks. All you have to do is find the confidence to play as a team.

My advice is to learn the rules, you'll enjoy the game more.

The problem is we may know the rules but don't understand the interpretations used as they appear to change from week to week

What do the other 8 coaches do?

I suspect it is more about recruiting priorities. We haven't necessarily valued it that highly in the past and it hasn't hurt us until the last 3 seasons since they introduced the stand rule.
