Game Day - Tiges V Freo

Do we stick up those cardboards with the time remaining on them??
Because it's 3 weeks in a row, we haven't had a clue how long was remaining.
I guarantee if a 2nd gamer marked the same ball Cumberland got from Pickett by he played for Freo he wouldve gone back over the mark.
One of my pet hates, I cannot stand is player's that go a 100kms. Headless chooks. Cumberland was getting told by Riewoldt not to play on.
WTF did he play on for??

O

Number 2 rated defence in the AFL, really well drilled and organised team in the back half.
Have 2 of the best young midfielders in the game in Brayshaw and serong.
Good team. They aren’t the worst team in the 8, I would rate them ahead of Carlton and certainly Collingwood.
Collingwood bent them over by 5 goals at Optus

Me? I don't think so. He was dropped for continual poor form in the forward line, went back to the VFL for a few games to train as a backman and hasn't looked back since. Is brilliant in the backline, has had a magnificent year and that's where he makes the most impact for us and is where he will stay. No way he will be moved forward any time soon.
Wasn't brilliant tonight.
I agree he has improved his game greatly. But....we have heaps of really good backs (9). Lack of creative small forwards is killing us week after week. He has put on weight and has always been a confidence player. One of our best score assists and kicks for goal. Had a form lapse for a while. Big deal, who doesn't. Swinging players like Balta, Gibcus and Baker to the forward line is messing us up wholesale. Forwards are born forwards AND ARE GOLD.
If the last three weeks aren't evidence of this, then we deserve what we get.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.

I half expect Robbie Tarrant and Grimesy to play forward next week!

Does he even care enough any more? No longer much responsibility. If you're just going through the motions for the $$$, Cotch, it's time to go. Living in the past with 'the just get it forward with dirty ball. We;re no longer in that era.

Compare with old man Mundy who breaks and fights off tackles to find space so he can deliver an effective possession if he possibly can. While Cotchin just throws it away with casual neglect.
Nah, still one of our most consistent players, and still plays more fearlessly than any player on the list.

Cumberlamd..
Great for a half each game...then vanishes ....come on....lets have a great last quater
Yes, but go easy; straight out of VFL, because Dimma wanted to keep giving opportunities to Aarts and Castagna ... expecting to see something different. o_O

Still very young and inexperienced - has become almost our most dangerous forward after about 3 AFL games. Senior players should be showing the way. Don't blame Cumbers; he took the game on at every opportunity he received.

Nope. He just needs to be played in his best position. As a backman. Blokes his size and athletiscm are a rare commodity. You dont trade them out. You just play them where they flourish.
12 months ago I couldnt have agreed with that more, but now all I see is a guy that I believed has peaked and struggling, be it wherever he is playing. I fancied him as another Mark Blicavs type, his versatility was exciting to see, but for me he has just plateaued and certainly hasn't improved in to many facets of the game that I can see.

Reckon success at such a young age can take away a lot of that. In saying that i still believe he has stagnated purely from being thrown around. If he was left in the backline, yeah he may still have made mistakes but he would have continued to build his smarts and game sense. Someone like Balta needs stability.
