Game Day - Tiges V Freo

Fremantle took advantage of Hardwick's stupid idea of playing a ruck as a key forward. Both teams were playing +1 behind the ball anyway & having a ruck as a key forward just made it worse. Ball just lived between the arcs all night as a result.

However as brave as Prestia & Cotchin were (and they both tried their guts out), we so lack quality midfielders that can win & use the ball to break the game open. And obviously we clearly lack a key forward. Balta has no instinct for it.

Forget Noah x2, this cost us. He tried to rectify it, but too little too late.

We tackled superbly but they hate giving us holding the ball. Cotch, Dion and Shai held at stoppage constantly, Darcy almost always holding Nank or Soldo, not one holdinmg the man free all night. Dived on it free against Jack was fair enough, but Young did the same five metres from our goal with 30 seconds left, all good.

He's a gun, that Young, though. Third-year player with the poise of a veteran.
They just showed on Fox Brennan Cox, standing, hugging the ball to his chest while Cumbo was tackling him, Luke Ryan coming in to help Cox hold the ball. Zero attempt made. Ball up.

It's *smile*'ing bias.

Its Dimmas fault for gifting Sheds games. Its Dimmas fault for playing an injured slow ruckman in the fwd line. Its Dimmas fault for persisting with Balta as a fwd when he clearly doesnt have the mental smarts for it. Should i continue?
I’d prefer you didn’t.

Also reckon the match committee should have a good hard look at themselves.
Numerous bad decisions but how could we not play Cumberland before Aarts, Castagna and others.
Easily our best forward tonight. Riewoldts kicking has regresses enormously - 45m up and unders and inaccurate at that!

If we only need to look at kicking accuracy we may as well just not watch and just read the stats sheet.
Without Lynch Jack has to be the anchor up forward. We don't have anyone else. Unfortunately he's not capable of that anymore.

Certain playera cooked and certain coach is also cooked. We need some big changes
Don’t think we need big changes…we need a better strength and conditioning team so we don’t have injuries all year.

We looked amazing in that comeback vs Geelong, we have it in us we’ve had really bad luck (or poor management) with injuries the last two years

Positives again were Cumberland and Sonsie…without two lumbering rucks, Lynch in the side and at the G we would win that match

Miller. You should slow down on the drinking, if you can't pay attention to the most minute details like that. Funny how Miller went off and we shipped a lead, while Nankervis and Soldo offered nothing.

It was the right move but we probably lost the game with the forward line as selected. In hindsight it was a bizarre three pronged attack. So little pressure with ball on deck.

Balta just has no footy IQ
If he bothered to turn around immediately after his mark, he would have had Cumberland clear running into an open goal, and then he takes too long and turns it over.
Plain stupid and cost us the win.
This, can never be underestimated nor taught obviously, its instinctive or non existent, as Noah clearly demonstrates on a regular basis.

Having NOT grown up from an early age playing the game and therefore having zero instincts for it, hurts him hugely when it comes to the very simple basic nuances of the game.

At times he looks 100% lost and doesnt have a clue as to what to do next, Id be more than happy to see him traded away for better talent or trade picks, we've seen his best and its not going to improve from here on out Im afraid to say.

Yeah, nah.
Unsure why in the last 5 minutes he runs to the backline and lies on the ball. Then acts like “what”. You can tell it was going to be a free

Truth. Dived on it.

For a smart player he’s done plenty of dumb things late in his career.
