GAME DAY Tigers V Pies

Got the impression the players were unhappy about the way they were told to play the past couple of games. Wonder if they took a vote and elected to return to the old gameplan? The energy was up, the players were in better positions to receive handballs etc. But same result in the end.

Yeah but he doesn't have to make himself look like a fool by saying the side that is 15th on the ladder is one of the better teams in the comp. That's ridiculous.
It’s straight after the game. He has a script and he just trots it out. They’re not worth listening to or getting upset about, never have been.

That was one of the most insipid soul destroying last quarters I have ever witnessed live. That tiger team gave absolutely nothing.... just watched pies constantly roll coast to coast untouched... and if we did get half a chance we either handed it back or gave away a free.... just putrid football

Jack started it with his insipid effort running toward goal. Jack was embarrassed by Maynard in almost every one in one. I don’t want to watch that sort of stuff each week. Watch a replay and count how many times he was beaten by Maynard. Maynard has become a very good player but Jack should beat him or at least halve contests. Can’t see how we won’t see more of this in 2022 from Jack.
Of course it doesn’t halp
Missing half your midfield but I expect more from Jack. He wasn’t up for the fight. Understandable, he’s got 3 flags, a young family and a bright media future. He’s lost the edge (ditto crotch, Astbury, Houli). It’s no shame.
Perhaps things will change if we had the full list to choose from but there’s bad signs.
fair commentary MD. Jack is reminding me of a petulant school kid lately who's peed off at his own inadequacies, it comes off as a weird form of laziness. no shame as you say, but if he's playing on he needs to show why.
i never thought we were going to win today, but got surprised, until the gas ran out . .

Positive that the season is over. Time to plan for 2022. Rest who needs it Give games to the kids. Find anew forward structure

I actually was arguing last night with Collingwood members,I said Collingwood will win has tigers have no midfield currently not one that will run out a game, where u have several midfielders capable of 30 plus, this is the biggest effected area of short pre season and continual injuries.

Jack has played extremely poorly the last few games. He is doing some really stupid *smile* with the ball; looks like he's trying to invent new ways to turn it over. I hope it's not the case but it looks like he's done.

Just back from the game.

On a positive, that was a much better performance than the last 2 weeks. Unfortunately it felt like weight of numbers of clearances / contested possessions just got the better of us. We were chasing them around for the whole of the last quarter, we never once looked like being able to regain control. I thought Chol competed pretty well (especially after rolling his ankle - I think it was his ankle - in the 1st quarter) but he was clearly spent in the last. The weight of not being able to compete in the ruck in the last, just meant Grundy could really influence the game which he did.

I did like the regeneration of the half back line, particularly in the 1st half but I felt like they didn't get any influence really in the 2nd half. I said at half time, if they started using their clearance dominance better in the 2nd (ie. ball use out of the contest) then the Pies would challenge us, and thats what happened in the last. We have been massively impacted defensively in stoppages by being without Prestia and Lambert for so much of the season. Having said that, I reckon we win the game if Nank was fit.

The better ball use in the last and the weaker defence, they scored at least once when Grimes was off the bench, it was about the only time that Not Dusty looked like scoring.

I think we know which players we need to move past and the top of that list has to be Naish and Aarts. They just aren't the level that we need to be competing at the top of the ladder and ultimately these last 6 games now need to be all about how we can reset and rebound quickly next year.

his footy smarts have turned on him

Aarts needs to be de listed or traded.
Nothing against the bloke

Now kicked 1 goal in 6 games. If he keeps his place on Friday the cupboard is very very bare. I'd give Cumberland a crack instead of Aarts on Friday night.

Delivery is a abomination.

I'm saying Bolton will go. Will be first to Cheer him if he stays but I just think he sees the writing on the wall and a bigger pay cheque. We need him but I think he sees greener grass.
